About the role

The Contracts Manager will be a vital member of our Legal team at DataCamp, reporting to the General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day flow and negotiation of contracts with DataCamp’s clients and vendors. You will collaborate with internal leaders and colleagues across the business, particularly in Sales, Legal, Finance, and Revenue Operations, and external stakeholders (clients and vendors) to review, analyze, revise, and negotiate various commercial contracts quickly and with as little friction as possible, while securing favorable contractual terms for Applecart.. Additionally, you will oversee and manage the contract management system, ensuring its effective utilization and maintenance. You will manage the commercial and operational aspects of client and vendor contracting - i.e., negotiating terms as well managing contract templates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the contract lifecycle: oversee the entire contract cycle from initial request and review through drafting, negotiation, and execution, adhering to DataCamp’s policies and procedures to balance risk and efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with key partners: Work with Sales, Finance, and Revenue Operations to support the development and implementation of standardized deal metrics. understand the business context of the deal in question and draft and client contracts based on existing templates and information provided by the Sales Team.  
  • Handle diverse agreements: review and manage a broad scope of agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS software licensing, marketing, and vendor agreements. 
  • Triage contract requests: handle basic review cycles of inbound contract requests and manage the utilization of additional legal resources as needed. 
  • Maintain contracts repository: keep a precise and organized repository to ensure agreements are easily accessible. 
  • Enhance internal processes: maintain and enhance internal processes, documentation, and best practices related to contract management to ensure efficient negotiation and execution. 
  • Support special projects: assist in other projects, including process development, information management efficiencies, innovation, and training. 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of contracts experience in a SaaS company, with the ability to manage a high volume of contracts. 
  • Organizational skills: excellent organizational skills with a focus on detail and a proven track record of managing competing priorities. 
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Technical proficiency: proficient in Gsuite, Slack, contract management systems (CMS), Linksquares preferred but not essential.
  • This position does not require a JD. The role is operational in nature and involves coordinating with the various legal and business stakeholders on both sides to negotiate contracts and move them to execution.
