About the role

The Corporate Communications Manager will work with the Communications leadership team to promote, manage, and support important lines of Crunchyroll business including e-commerce and retail, licensing and consumer products, business development, and product and engineering. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will support Crunchyroll’s business, trade and industry narrative. This is a contract position.

  • You will collaborate with company partners to develop consumer and business media campaigns for a mix of news across lines of business
  • You will manage media outreach and relationship-building with reporters across business, tech, trade and consumer publications
  • Alongside the Director of Communications, you will create foundational materials including press releases, presentations, bios, internal communications, talking points, statements, and pitches
  • You will investigate and manage submissions for awards, special issues and speaking opportunities for Crunchyroll executives, in the ecommerce, retail, consumer products, business development, and product and engineering space.
  • You will work with main executives on trend stories and company spotlights, including prep, talking points and coaching
  • You will curate external speaking opportunities for major industry events in a handful of important subject areas
  • You will liaise with media – specifically trade/business and select industry trades, on industry and business stories, especially as it relates to reporters in the retail, consumer products, and technical / engineering space

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because..

  • 5+ years in Media Relations or related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or related field
  • You are familiar with anime, pop culture and current entertainment
  • You're able to focus and sculpt communications (spoken and written) to best meet our needs
  • You have an existing book of media contacts across business, tech, and trade publications
  • You have a service-driven, and can-do and will-do approach, responding to pressure while maintaining a calm presence
  • You run multiple work streams simultaneously, delivering on time and with high attention to detail
  • You excel in creative environments where you can anticipate and solve issues
  • You are proficient in Microsoft 365, and GSuite, and it's a bonus if you're familiar with Keynote
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally

The Crunchyroll Communications team is a nimble group of publicists who love talking about anime, our brand, and the broader streaming entertainment industry. We’re storytellers and we connect our passionate fans to the content they love through thoughtful press around our fan-centric touchpoints (SVOD, theatrical, events, games, merchandise, and more).

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
