The Challenge
The International Employment Legal team supports all of Take Two’s labels and studios across world, with the exception of the Americas. Working closely with the legal team in London, as well as the HR teams based in Bangalore, this role will provide day-to-day employment law support as well as strategic HR guidance for our employee populations in India and APAC. Combining autonomy and detailed local legal knowledge with an ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders will be key to success in this developing area for our business.
What You’ll Take On
- Provide legal advice and counsel to HR, business leaders, and other internal lawyers (in EMEA, APAC and the US) regarding:
- the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters and employee benefit issues in India.
- Commercial and compliance issues around doing business in India
- Data privacy matters in India
- Support the employment law team in providing advice to HR, other internal legal teams, the finance department and business leaders on employment law matters in India and APAC, including working with outside counsel where appropriate.
- Support the regulatory compliance team to identify emerging regulatory compliance issues in India, including working with outside counsel where appropriate.
- Analyze legislative changes to implement, maintain and advise on employment and employee benefit practices, policies, procedures, and agreements applicable in India and APAC.
- Support HR teams on grievance, disciplinary, performance, and dismissal processes for employees based in India and APAC.
- Provide compliance training, including regarding anti-harassment, the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, anti-corruption, and competition law for employees in India.
- Support the commercial, corporate and real estate legal teams in reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, including vendor services agreements and other facilities-type contracts.
- Support the corporate legal team on corporate governance requirements in India, including import/export laws.
- Support the privacy team with data protection matters in India, including preparing and negotiating data processing agreements with Indian vendors.
What You Bring
- Detailed knowledge of Indian employment laws, and general commercial contract laws and corporate secretarial practices in India.
- Demonstrable experience supporting HR to measure and manage risk in a changing landscape.
- Experience of advising global clients, and/or Indian subsidiaries of global businesses.
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced, high volume, in-house environment, demonstrating responsiveness, good business judgment, flexibility, and self-confidence.
- The ability to work as part of a global legal team whilst developing an autonomous approach.
- The ability to be innovative and provide creative solutions to legal problems.
- Preferably, a minimum of three years’ experience practicing employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Great to Have:
- Knowledge of Indian, U.S., and U.K. anti-corruption laws and regulations, including experience advising clients regarding such laws and regulations, is beneficial.
- Experience in house is beneficial, but not essential, as is experience with wider APAC employment matters or technology or entertainment industry experience
- Willingness to engage and invest in business relationships to continually develop knowledge and understanding of the Company.
- Willingness to travel.
