We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.The RoleWe're on the lookout for a super-experienced Creative Director to lead our in-house creative team. Reporting directly to the VP Design/Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand identity, fostering collaboration with internal teams and agency partners, and ensuring a cohesive and impactful presence across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to);

Creative Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire our in-house creative talent across writing, tone of voice (TOV), and brand design.
  • Drive creative excellence and obsess over the details to maintain a distinctive and consistent brand identity.

Collaboration and Connectivity:

  • Work closely with agency partners to align creative efforts from ATL to conversion.
  • Connect the dots to ensure a coherent thread in all creative endeavours, building upon Monzo's established brand foundation.

Craft and Detail:

  • Review and refine every piece of creative work, ensuring alignment with brand standards and a high level of quality.
  • Bring a keen eye for design details and a commitment to maintaining a visually bold brand.

Innovation and Big Ideas:

  • Foster a culture of creativity by pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and generating innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrate bravery and persistence in pursuing groundbreaking creative solutions.

Brand & Product: 

Be the driving force in functionally integrating the brand within the product, ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience that customers interact with daily.Uphold the challenge of developing the brand and marketing that translates seamlessly and elegantly into our product experience.

Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor our creatives, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with all to elevate the quality of work across all media.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Work in tandem with the VP of Marketing to align creative strategies with broader marketing goals and business objectives.
  • Ensure creative initiatives contribute to Monzo's success and positive impact on the world.

You should apply if you have:

  • Extensive experience in art direction and creative direction.
  • Proven track record of creating brilliant work across various media. That demonstrates both out of the box creativity and outstanding results. 
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing creative teams and collaborating with design talent.
  • A craftsperson that obsesses over the details. 
  • A self-starter who doesn’t need direction to know what needs to be done. As such any director must be used to being close to every detail and happy to ideate, design, write as well as direct.
  • Appreciate that good ideas come from anywhere.

The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves four main stages: 

  • Recruiter Call (30mins)
  • Initial Call (30 mins)
  • Case Study (45 min)
  • x2 final interviews via Google Meet (x2 45 mins)
