Viator is committed to brand marketing and becoming a household name.  During this critical time of growth for Viator commercially as well as a period of growth for the Viator brand, we are seeking our first ever Viator creative director to help us in that mission. Leading a team of thinkers and doers, the creative director will bring a mix of marketing expertise and business acumen to the role, promoting Viator as the place to book memorable travel experiences. We’re looking for an experienced manager of people, someone who can inspire others while taking our creative output to a new level as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have a natural eye for design and be a prolific generator of dynamic ideas that connect with our target audience, while appreciating the importance of our commercial and revenue goals.

In this role,  you will be responsible for creating and optimizing marketing strategy through creative to support Viator’s overall brand growth goals.  You will play an integral role in driving growth and success, reporting to the VP, Brand and Communications.  You will manage an in-house team of creative producers across video and still as well as graphic designers.  You will partner with other team members for copywriting with future opportunities to bring in that skill set.  You will also liaise closely with our creative agency partner.

This role requires extensive creative know-how with a marketing-to-consumers-first mindset.  This role will also require you to understand how the creative is working using quantifiable measurements. It’s a true balance of art and science (at times, leaning more heavily towards science / quantifiable results). 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Own and execute on the visual identity of Viator to ensure the off-site advertising experience closely mirrors the onsite interaction with the brand (includes cohesiveness on social as well)
  • Lead and review the work of the creative teams for all video and static across the marketing funnel
  • Oversee the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
  • Work closely with brand strategy to execute on creative by Spearhead and manage brand strategy for both small and large projects, harnessing brand design, copy, art, and digital technology
  • Collaborate with our agency partners and media team to analyze results, and identify opportunities
  • Work cross-departmentally to align campaign strategies and goals across the organization
  • Management of what content needs to be produced based on paid media placements
  • Understanding the overall budget for creative production
  • Understand that we’ll use data to review what’s working from a creative perspective and the openness to make changes
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and eloquently present
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, ambitious personality who is open to helping with any task
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies
  • Strong grasp and keen passion for marketing, travel and culture, and an understanding of the linear, digital, social media and entertainment space

 

Skills & Experience

  • 10-12 years of experience in creative marketing and creative direction within an e-commerce and/or tech environment
  • Extensive knowledge in understanding business objectives tied to revenue and how to ensure creative reflects full funnel goals
  • Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: TV, digital, social media, paid media, mobile, email, offline, and print
  • Ability to lead execution and provide detailed plans of brand book adoption along with milestones of success throughout launch (i.e. commercial impact of updates on site, across social environments, etc.)
  • Continued management of brand identity adherence across the full funnel
  • Proven ability to develop successful concepts from ideation to execution that reflects strategy backed in data and wrap reports that measure commercial impact
  • Proficiency in leading a team of diverse, talented creatives
  • Strong creative vision, with an eye on business objectives
  • Portfolio of creative campaigns demonstrating conceptual thinking
  • Integrating agency teams with in-house teams experience
  • Storyteller with experience communicating the benefits of brand marketing strategies 
  • Have a strong forward-thinking and creative mind with the ability to develop actionable concepts together with teams and a persistent character
  • Strong people manager with an adaptive personality and an open-minded and reciprocal approach who can easily work with all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree
