Full Time
London, UK

Are you a hardworking, dog-loving, marketer ready to embark on an exciting journey? We're on the lookout for a driven email marketer to join our growing, global CRM team.

CRM covers a lot—pretty much any communication we send out to our customers—but this team is not only responsible for executing high-quality emails or SMS. We aim to deliver memorable brand experiences for our customers and, more importantly, their gorgeous dogs.

The CRM function at Butternut Box has come a long way over the past few years (and now supports six markets across the UK and Europe) but we are just getting started.

This is a hybrid working role, offering flexibility with some work-from-home days each week. We expect you to spend 3 days at the Box Office in White City - London, with the possibility of occasional travel to other locations as your role evolves. If you're ready to make a significant impact, join us on this exciting adventure of growth and innovation.

📣 A bit about the role:

At Butternut Box, we like to split CRM out into three audiences; existing customers, potential customers and paused customers.

The person we are looking for will be able to deliver engaging, personalised, communications for each of these audiences (and their dogs, of course).

Across each of our markets, we set bold growth and retention goals. You'll have your own targets to hit and the freedom to try and test new initiatives to reach them.

This role is an opportunity to assess and improve the ways we reach our audiences, explore and implement the best tech available to optimise communications, and work closer than ever with our in-house teams to create seamless and customer-centric user experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Brief in, build and launch campaigns contributing to clear OKRs
  • Set up and maintain reports that deliver valuable evaluation and insights about what’s working and what isn’t
  • Identify trends and investigate KPIs, making informed conclusions and taking action on the back of them
  • Design and implement a testing strategy to gain insights about our potential, paused and active customers
  • Be responsible for metrics, and report the commercial impact of campaigns to key stakeholders
  • Liaise with local market stakeholders to launch international campaigns, optimised for each market
  • Support the CRM function in optimising ‘always on’ campaigns, and developing collaborative strategies to drive engagement beyond your immediate responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our brand & creative teams to deliver impactful messages with the right tone in a fun, and on-brand way
  • Work closely with our digital product teams to deliver experiences that are optimised for usability and functionality
  • Execute campaigns that deliver on commercial business goals in collaboration with our business insights and commercial teams
  • Responsible for high-quality execution of all email campaigns, SMS, and push notifications
  • Generate innovative ideas to support bold growth objectives.

👋 A bit about you:

  • You will be able to hit the ground running. We are envisaging at least 1-2 years of experience in a demanding email marketing or marketing communications role.
  • Knowledge of an email platform (we use Iterable) and a basic understanding of HTML email coding & tech integrations is a bonus.
  • You are genuinely passionate about marketing. We want to develop a brand that is unrivalled in the pet category, and we have super punchy commercial goals. We’ll need someone who loves the job and is excited to create an impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a critical thinker. We are constantly improving the CRM function and will need someone comfortable bringing fresh ideas to the table.
  • You love to solve a problem. In any role, you will come up against obstacles that need creative solutions. These obstacles should motivate rather than scare you.
  • You are keen to become an expert in our customers. We have grown a lot in the last few years but there are still a lot of assumptions about our customers. You'll be keen to test (and maybe disprove) these assumptions and grow your understanding of motivations and behaviour.
  • You are results-orientated. You will want to be responsible for the key things that we are trying to do and take accountability for successes and things that might not work well.
  • Obsessed with dogs. Naturally.
