We are looking for a Culinary Administration Specialist to join our Recipe Development Team. Reporting to the Recipe Development Sr. Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team of data-driven creatives, building meaningful food experiences for thousands of Canadians weekly!**Please note this role is not a recipe developer position.**

Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for

  • Work closely with Culinary Team Stakeholders to ensure digital versions of tested recipes are accurate and consistent with changes made throughout the testing/planning process
  • Update and maintain multiple data tools used throughout the recipe development and menu planning stages 
  • Maintain  Test Kitchen ingredient inventory levels through controlling costs, nurturing vendor relations, and adherence to best food safety/storage practices while optimizing kitchen processes for efficiency
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of all Test Kitchen appliances, as well as maintaining supply of necessary tools and utensils required for testing purposes
  • Be responsible for the booking schedule of the Test Kitchen, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure the space is allocated in a time-appropriate manner
  • Support the recipe development team with ad hoc requests and communicate ingredient/recipe changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Validate recipes as part of the External Testing team during peak season and learn how we create our unique recipe experiences

  • This role requires lifting up to 50lbs (23 kgs) on a regular basis.

Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for

  • An undergraduate or culinary degree or equivalent commercial food industry experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in food service or food-retail or food-related administration
  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to all that you do
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and various stakeholders
  • A solid foundation in food, including comprehensive knowledge of ingredient preparation, storage and longevity, as well as common cooking techniques. Food Handler's Certification is a big plus.
  • Experience working with databases (including data entry) and willingness to learn proprietary software. Familiarity with Google Suite and MS Excel skills is a plus.
  • A knack for identifying process gaps and opportunities and the willingness and drive to take the necessary steps to improve them
  • Ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
  • A desire to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent change and assuredness in making rapid decisions and seeing a process through its course as a result.
