In this role, you will support our distributed team of Education Engineers through creating and developing new educational materials for classroom and online training. You will also help maintain existing courseware and create software tools for interactive learning.
This opportunity has a direct influence on helping us grow and expand our education program by creating new courses for in-person and on-demand as well as helping build a certification program. The education materials you help build will be used by thousands of people every year!

What You Will Be Doing:- Ensure Elastic Security courseware remains up to date with the fast-evolving features of the Elastic Stack while incorporating feedback from students and collaborating with education engineers and cross-functional stakeholders for both in-person and OnDemand content.
- Create scripts, programs, and other similar technical artifacts that will assist the students in their learning environment and labs for courses
- Stay current with the latest developments in the Elastic Stack and similar technologies by actively engaging with GitHub repositories and other communication channels, fostering an approach of continual improvement and exploration.
- A minimum of 4-years experience working as an engineer, developer, or integrator in information retrieval or related technologies
- A minimum of 2 years experience building and developing curriculum in collaboration with key stakeholders and other teams.
- Extensive experience in cybersecurity methodologies and tools used to detect and mitigate cyber threats to ensure robust and up-to-date security measures are integrated into system and curriculum development processes
- BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related engineering subject area
- A capacity to learn new things quickly and express your knowledge in a meaningful way
- Solid understanding of a programming language (and related ecosystem and libraries) in Windows or Linux/Unix environment, software development, and/or experience with search, databases and distributed systems
- A desire to learn as much as possible about the internals and use cases of the Elastic Stack
- Strong communication skills while multitasking at a rapid pace
- Excitement to work with a highly distributed team and collaborative environment

- MS or Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related engineering subject area
- Experience in any of the following:
- Version Control (Git, SCM)
- Dev Ops (Ansible, Puppet, Salt)
- Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Scripting (Bash, Powershell)
- Programming (Python, Ruby, C#, etc.)
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.
