Where you’ll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person. 

You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our hub offices, Bristol or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

Extremely exciting opportunity to work in a major, progressive utilities business working across our Commercial business area with a particular focus on  driving opportunities and optimising our use of Customer lifetime Value (CLV). 

 

This role in a nutshell:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst & Commercial Delivery Lead to support our business with data-driven insights and lead the delivery of key projects and initiatives. This hybrid role combines a basic level of technical expertise in data analysis and visualisation with strong business and commercial acumen; and project coordination / initiative delivery skills.

The Data & Commercial Delivery Lead will be responsible for analysing data and translating findings into clear and concise presentations for senior management (e.g. CCO, VP Growth), seeking sign-off for value opportunities to be driven across the business.  

Working with a large number of stakeholders across the business to ensure the commercial opportunities get delivered in a manner that enables the realisation of benefits. 

The role will also provide some support for the Senior Data Analyst and in business reporting.

Their activities fall into the following main areas: 

  • Performance reporting to senior stakeholders - ensuring accurate and timely submissions of performance data (weekly and monthly) to senior stakeholders such as CEO and CCO for internal meetings and Board meetings  
  • Provide insights - supporting the Head of Commercial Optimisation & CLV in gathering, analysing and presenting actionable insights to CCO, VP of Growth and the Director of Retain & Engage.
  • From insights to benefits - engage stakeholders / other teams to turn insights into actions to improve OVO’s performance. 
  • Being the driving force - work with stakeholders across the business to ensure barriers to delivery are removed

    Your key outcomes will be:

    • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of data-centric value projects and business initiatives
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders
    • Establish and proactively manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business
    • Develop plans, timelines, and resource requirements
    • Monitor progress and proactively address or escalate risks & issues
    • Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders
    • Extract, transform, and analyze data using SQL and BigQuery to support business decision-making
    • Support the maintenance of dashboards and reports in Looker or Tableau
    • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all reporting outputs
    • Work hand in hand with those that are involved in CLV to answer critical questions and unlock opportunities 

     

    You’ll be a successful Data & Commercial Delivery Lead here at OVO if you…

    • Experience analysing data to identify trends, inconsistencies and insights 
    • Proficient in creating slide decks and comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
    • Have hands-on experience with technologies such as Google cloud, BigQuery, Github
    • Advanced Excel/ Google sheet skills 
    • Some experience with Tableau or Looker Studio would be preferred
    • Has experience leading the delivery of projects and initiatives, working with a range of stakeholders, from conception to ensure a positive outcome
    • Can facilitate workshops, presentations, and training sessions to communicate data findings and project outcomes
    • A keen eye for detail and ability to produce high quality deliverables
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to collaborate with others and work with a degree of autonomy
    • Comfortable navigating change and uncertainty, with a flexible working attitude
    • Experience and knowledge within the energy sector will be an advantage

    We’ll pay you between £45,000 - £65,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
