Data Analyst

We are growing and expanding our team of Data Analysts. Therefore, we are looking for a Data Analyst (Sales/marketing) to strengthen one of our data analytics Domain teams in supporting their stakeholders in data-driven decision making and business process optimization.
This position is a full-time job and involves actively creating and sharing of data related knowledge, providing BI tools to stakeholders and analytics to management.

We are building the Uber-like platform for manufacturing on demand, and there is a lot of interesting work to be done.The platform (ERP/backoffice + Customers front + Partners front) is in-house developed system based on Ruby on Rails/PostgreSQL stack, Typescript/React/GraphQL frontend, Python modules and integrations with 3rd party solutions via APIs. Right now we’re setting up several clones of this European platform for new regions.
Data stack is based on Snowflake / Airflow / Looker. Currently, the European data analysis team has 8 people, while the whole IT team is close to 40 people. We serve all non-US business operations with more than 200+ employees and thousands of orders monthly.
Tech stack: DWH: SnowFlake, AirFlow, Looker. Application platform: PostgreSQL, Ruby, SalesForce.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in business development and business process optimization activities by providing data-driven insights, formulating optimization proposals, setting up experiments and evaluating results. You will work in one of the key Domains of data analytics: 1) sales/marketing, 2) order distribution, 3) operations (i.e. order fulfilment), 4) partner network management, or 5) finance.
- Support management in making strategic and tactical decisions based on extensive data analysis.
- Create and develop interactive dashboards with Looker BI platform, provide training and encourage teams and management to apply a data-driven approach to process management.
- Analyze product metrics to continuously improve platform service performance and company profitability.
- Task the data warehouse development team to obtain data needed to build dashboards/research. Participate in the development of methodology for defining key metrics, related tables and needed calculations
- Participate in AI initiatives aimed to deliver better operational results of the company.
Successful candidate has
- Technical mindset and (at least) a Bachelor's degree in Technical Science: Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or other related field. Strong knowledge of mathematics and basic knowledge of mathematical statistics.
- 3+ years of experience as analyst/data science preferably in b2b/b2c marketplaces
- Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and Python for processing and analysis (must).
- Proven experience developing dashboards to solve real business problems. We use Looker, but experience with Tableau, Qlik, Chartio, etc. is also relevant.
- Product and business sense. Understanding of the principles of unit economics, analyzing user behavior, finding insights and presenting results to management.
- Proficiency in English and Russian at a level not lower than B2 (must)
- Critical thinking ability to perceive complex, ambiguous, abstract requirements and break them down into smaller components, schemes, types and characteristics.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Ability to work effectively in a team, both in a leadership and support role.
- Willingness to work in a startup environment with constantly evolving goals.
Examples of problems to be solved:
- Sales strategy optimization. Our main product - Machined Parts-on-demand - is offered with different options (technologies, materials, post-processing options etc). Seems like these variants differently affect invoiced revenue and margin, claims rate, orders delays.Tasks: Formulate and constantly update optimal sales and pricing strategy and critical success factors aimed to maximize revenue and mitigate claims risks and income loss based on clustering of offered products from the historical perspective; Monitor product performance. As a product analyst, you’ll monitor the performance of products over their lifecycle. You'll identify patterns and trends that indicate how well a product performs on the market, and subsequently monitor sales numbers and gather customer feedback data to gauge performance.
- Optimal order distribution. Each received order needs to be outsourced ASAP to the best-fit production partner. Task: Increase platform efficiency by design and implementation of optimal order distribution-to-the-Production partners strategies, balancing various efficiency criteria.
- Marketplace balance. Balance of Demand (customer orders requests) and Supply (availability of production partners with proper technological capabilities) are constantly changing.
- It requires us to proactively identify lacking production competences and expand the Production Partners Network. Task: Support partner network management team focusing their efforts to efficiently keep balance state.
- Operational Processes Optimization: Our sales depend on customer satisfaction which depends on on-time supply production with no claims. It consequently depends on operational processes. Task: Identify bottlenecks and critical success factors in operational business processes and design a system of preventive controls to avoid customer claims/delays.
