The Data & Insights Team

Our focus is on building platforms, capabilities, and insights that are utilized across the organization by sales, marketing, engineering, finance, product, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong data background with the ability to tie data engineering and analytics initiatives to business impact. 

You will be part of a team that empowers the enterprise with trusted, timely, and actionable insights to drive business transformation and customer value.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance, direction, and support in their day-to-day activities.
  • Drive data governance initiatives by establishing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing data security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data infrastructure, systems, and tools are optimized to support efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
  • Design, monitor, and maintain reports, KPIs, and trends for internal data systems.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues in data processing pipelines to ensure timely and efficient data delivery.
  • Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate updates to ensure timely delivery of data engineering and analytics projects.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data engineering and analytics processes, systems, and tools to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or another quantitative field of study
  • 5+ years in data engineering and/or business analytics 
  • Experience scaling and managing teams
  • Understanding of the process to build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
  • Ability to design and build technical processes to address business issues.
  • Expert in Relational Database design, implementation, queries, and reporting (DDL, SQL)
  • 3+ years’ experience working with SQL and ETL tools such as Airflow, with relational and columnar MPP databases like Snowflake, Athena or Redshift
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical audience

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following! 

  • Experience with the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure/platforms  (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and Data Lake development
  • Experience with data quality and observability tools (Monte Carlo, Soda, dbt)
  • Experience with data cataloging tools (data.world, Alation, Atlan)
