Your missionAs a Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our mission to revolutionize satellite communications, playing a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing our data warehouse solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabrics Synapse. If you are passionate about harnessing the power of data and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, we want you to join our team and help us shape the future of global connectivity.This includes:
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouse solutions with Microsoft Fabrics Synapse
- Design and optimization of data models and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)
- Ensuring data quality and integrity within the data warehouse environment
- Design, implementation, and further development of data pipelines
- Development, operation, and monitoring of existing ETL processes
- Responsibility for the use of big data applications and the associated data integrations
- Analysis and evaluation of internal and external data (sources) for their economic potential and derivation of use cases
- Close collaboration with technical and non-technical team members to solve data-based challenges
- Implementation and management of data pipelines for integrating various data sources
- Performance tuning and optimizations to improve data processing
- Creation and maintenance of documentation and best practices for data warehouse architecture
- Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, data science, or a comparable field
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a similar position, preferably in the field of data warehousing and big data
- Solid knowledge and experience with Microsoft Fabrics Synapse (formerly Azure Synapse Analytics) and other Microsoft Azure data solutions
- Experience with big data and cloud technologies (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, DataBricks)
- Experience in developing and managing ETL processes as well as with ETL tools
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Proficiency in Python or R and experience with PySpark are required
- Experience with comparable Microsoft tools is an advantage
- Knowledge of data modeling and data governance
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical issues clearly
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
