Data Science Manager, Growth Alliance (f/m/x)
Are you ready to drive a huge business impact? As Data Science Manager for Search Optimisation, you will lead a team dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of our marketing investments. You will oversee the design of optimization algorithms and implementation measurement frameworks that directly steer our Paid Search ecosystem. In this role, you will take ownership of various data sources from internal conversion data to external ads platform data and translate them into production-grade data products. We are looking for a leader who thrives at the intersection of economic logic, data science and machine learning, translating complex business constraints into scalable data products that drive HelloFresh’s growth.
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and scientific curiosity.
- Ensure scientific rigor across the team by overseeing ML systems and pipelines as well as experimental design, causal inference methodologies, and the validation of optimization logic.
- Provide technical oversight through code reviews and architectural discussions, ensuring that ML pipelines are robust, explainable, and aligned with business goals.
- Drive innovation and explore opportunities to refine approaches using emerging techniques as the role evolves (e.g., pLTV, keyword mining, or reinforcement learning).
- Bridge the gap between complex DS concepts and marketing strategy, acting as a key partner to senior stakeholders in the Marketing and Product organizations.
- Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment that attracts and develops top talent
- Think out of the box to come up with new ways of how we can improve our data products we deliver to our stakeholders
- Leadership Experience: 8+ years in Data Science / Machine Learning, with 3+ years in a people management role.
- People Management Skills: Track record of managing and developing high-performing data science teams, with a focus on mentoring technical talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Domain Expertise: 3+ years building/deploying ML systems in AdTech/MarTech, with a focus on marketing measurement or ad optimization.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of MMM, attribution models, and causal inference.
- Optimization Specialisation: Strong background in mathematical optimization (e.g., constrained optimization, budget steering) and forecasting.
- Technical Literacy: Fluency in SQL/Python. You can navigate complex codebases and perform reviews (familiarity with scikit-learn, PyMC, or Statsmodels).
- Strategic Communication: Exceptional ability to influence senior leadership and translate complex technical concepts into clear business ROI.
