Data Scientist, Decisions - Rider Loyalty & Partnerships

Data Scientists take on a variety of problems ranging from shaping critical business decisions to building algorithms that power our internal and external products.
As a Data Scientist, Decisions in the Rider team, you will leverage data and apply analytical thinking to shape our loyalty and partnerships strategy and make business decisions that put our customers first. You will identify improvement opportunities, propose and implement technical solutions, design experiments, and measure the impact of your team’s decisions. You will partner closely with product, engineering, design, and other stakeholders to deliver products end-to-end. You will also collaborate with adjacent teams in Business Development, Marketplace and FP&A to balance rider, partner and marketplace needs. We’re looking for well-rounded, passionate, driven Data Scientists to take on some of the most interesting and impactful problems in ride-sharing.
Responsibilities:- Leverage data to provide insights around rider behavior and sentiment and identify improvement opportunities to drive rider loyalty.
- Apply analytics, causal inference and experimentation techniques to solve business problems
- Design and analyze experiments; communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences to act on launch decisions
- Build mathematical models to design new loyalty and partnership constructs
- Establish metrics that measure the health of our products
- Develop analytical frameworks and dashboards to monitor business and product performance
- Partner with product managers, engineers, business development and FP&A to translate analytical insights into decisions and action, and implement products to drive business goals
- Design and implement data pipelines to support data analysis and product implementation
- 3+ years experience in a data science role or analytics role
- B.S. in economics, applied math, statistics, engineering or other quantitative fields, M.S. preferred
- Proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
- Experience in programming, especially with data science and visualization libraries in Python or R
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments, and communicating results and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills (i.e, business writing, presentation building & delivery, executive briefings)
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive shared outcomes
- Experience working with ETL pipelines a plus

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $124,000 - $155,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
