Data Scientist
As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in delivering advanced analytical solutions and insights that drive key business decisions. You will apply complex data modelling, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to large datasets, extracting meaningful insights to support strategic initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, develop scalable models, and deliver small to medium-sized projects with little or no supervision.
This role is based in Chippendale Head Office and reports to the Senior Manager Data Science.
You will…
- Develop and apply advanced data science solutions to address business challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science into decision-making processes.
- Lead the development and refinement of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Ensure models are scalable, interpretable, and actionable, following best practices.
- Communicate complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Uphold data quality measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity.
- Stay updated on advancements in data science and proactively bring innovations into the organisation.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior data scientists and peers.
You have…
- A Master’s degree in a quantitative field and 2+ years of professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of professional experience
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Experimentation, Causal Inference, Predictive Modelling, Recommendation Systems, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Optimisation.
- Experience designing and building Machine Learning models in a business context.
- Advanced skills in SQL and Python.
- Intermediate skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience with Tableau or other analytics platforms
- Strong technical knowledge in advanced statistics.
- Knowledge of code and model management best practices.
