Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Data Scientist III at our facility in Boston, Massachusetts to develop machine learning models that power Chewy Pet Health platforms.

What You’ll Do: 

• Work collaboratively with Engineering and Product teams to deliver AI/ML solutions.
• Responsible for developing data analysis and machine learning pipelines at scale in a cloud environment, including performance assessments and model decisions.
• Understand and manage technical aspects of running machine learning systems at scale.
• Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels across different functional teams.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

What You’ll Need:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience,
• Alternatively, a PhD and 2 years of experience.
• Experience must include 2 years in the following: working on practical problems in data science;
• Healthcare big data;
• Machine learning, neural networks, and recommendation systems;
• Working with data science Python packages: sklearn, xgboost, TensorFlow, keras, and BERT;
• Translating ambiguous customer requirements into clear problem definitions and delivering them;
• Working in cloud computing environment, including AWS (Sagemaker) and Databricks;
• Deploying machine learning models in production;
• Java or other backend programming languages; and
• E-commerce or Healthcare.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.
