Why We Have This Role

At Qualtrics, our Advisory Team is the client-facing knowledge (Customer Experience, Employee Experience and Data Science) center of the organization. We are instrumental in ensuring our clients derive maximum insight, action and value from our services and products.  As trusted advisors, we comprehend our clients' objectives and provide innovative solutions, insights and systems to gather the most actionable insights to address their challenges. Our client experience, attentive listening and domain expertise fosters innovation within Qualtrics, driving improvements in both how we work with customers and our product.

As a Data Scientist within the Qualtrics client-facing data science team, you will combine your passion for practicing data science with sharing the insights you uncovered with customers.  Working closely with other members of our client-facing Data Science team and the larger Advisory team, you will help our customers improve how they, in turn, treat their customers and/or employees and drive better business outcomes.  You will be given the opportunity to develop new ways to solve client problems using data science methods.  If you have 2-4 years experience as a data science practitioner, can code well in R and like driving impact by sharing data-driven insights to stakeholders, the XM Data Science Team could be the ideal place for you.

 

How You’ll Find Success

  • Improved Data Science Craft: answer client business questions using data science methods & tools.  Ideate on potential approaches. Select the most appropriate methods to solve the problem.
  • Story-telling with Insights: deliver actionable and insightful presentations to our key customers undergirded by predictive, explanatory and/or descriptive analyses
  • Client Relationships: build relationships with key clients, and internal counterparts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in data science methods, tools, visualizations and ways of working that compellingly provide key insights.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders across different functions to develop and execute multidisciplinary solutions and improve the customer experience.

Things You’ll Do

  • Data Science Practice: answer client business questions using data science methods & tools.  
  • Insight Delivery: deliver actionable and insightful presentations to our key customers undergirded by predictive and/or descriptive analyses
  • Client Engagement: Build relationships with key clients, and internal counterparts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in data science methods, tools, visualizations and ways of working.
  • Sales Support: Support large sales efforts to demonstrate the value of Qualtrics’ advisory services to our prospective customers
  • Offering Development: Work with our global leadership team to lead the development of new and innovative services packages that meet our customers emerging needs and support new product releases
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders across different functions to develop and execute multidisciplinary solutions and improve the customer experience.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with the Product team to provide real-world scalable client insights that shape the Product roadmap.

 

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

Harder Technical Knowledge and Skills:

    • Graduate degree in a technical field (statistics, data science, analytics, mathematics, engineering, etc.)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of both the theory and practice of data science (with strength in explanatory/inferential and predictive statistics)
    • 2+ years delivering data-driven insights to stakeholders (internal or external)
    • 2+ years hands on coding experience in R [Qualtrics iQ Suite is a nice to have]
    • 2+ years experience wrangling Big Data focused on human-centered business problems
    • Have a solid understanding of rigorous research methodology, e.g., survey design and experimental design

Softer Experience and Skills

    • 2+ years work experience as a client-facing [internal or external client] data scientist/analytical consultant
    • Demonstrated history of working successfully with external/internal clients as evidenced by strong Data Science project work and impact
    • Can communicate complex concepts in a clear, concise and compelling composition
    • Strong writing and presentation skills
    • Able to build trusted, peer relationships with clients
    • Ability to communicate effectively to both highly academic and business (non-academic) audiences 
  • Willing to live and work where the role is based (Chicago)
