We're hiring a Data Strategist to join our Investors vertical - someone who combines investor-domain understanding, client-facing polish, and a curious, problem-solving mindset to help investment clients turn Similarweb's alternative data into an edge.

You'll partner with Go to Market, Research and Development, and client-side stakeholders - from analysts and portfolio managers to data sourcing teams, quants, and senior technical leaders - acting as a trusted advisor on how our data can answer investment questions.

What You'll Do:

Use-Case Design & Client Advisory

• Run discovery with investor clients to understand their investment process and translate ambiguous business questions into concrete data use cases
• Present findings, demos, and use-case narratives to sophisticated investor audiences with clarity and confidence
• Identify opportunities for new metrics, benchmarks, and analytical approaches

Process & Project Management

• Translate client requirements into clear technical briefs; be comfortable explaining exactly what you want built and why
• Develop a working understanding of how Similarweb data is delivered and consumed - APIs, cloud storage, and modern data stacks - so you can speak the same language as technical counterparts
• Become a subject matter expert in Similarweb's core data assets, equipping you to advise clients with confidence
• Develop deep expertise in the Investor segment - hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, and corporates
• Identify gaps, trends, and new opportunities in how clients use data
• Provide input to Product and R&D on roadmap, datasets, and integrations

What you bring to Similarweb:

• 2-4 years of professional experience, including 1-2 years working with or for investors in an equity research, investment research or analysis, corporate strategy, or on the client-facing side of an alternative data vendor
• Excellent client-facing communication: you can run a discovery call, present to a demanding audience, and build trust with sophisticated clients
• A curious, problem-solving mindset - you enjoy digging into ambiguous questions and working out how data can answer them
• Strong project and process management: comfortable coordinating internal build teams and managing timelines and expectations across stakeholders
• A genuine interest in alternative data and in solving investor problems with technical datasets
• An AI-first mindset: you actively use AI tools today and want to be at the forefront of developing AI skills
• Comfort working with technical datasets, and an understanding of cloud storage and API usage - enough to brief technical teams and speak their language

Nice to Have

• Prior hands-on use of Python and/or SQL for analysis (a strong plus, not a requirement)
• Direct experience with alternative data as a user or provider
• Familiarity with modern data ecosystems (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/GCP)

The base salary range for this position in New York City is $90,000 to $145,000, plus benefits including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, potential equity, employee stock purchase plan and paid sick and parental leave.

In addition, this position is eligible to participate in the company’s sales incentive plan, with a maximum target OTE of up to $165,000, depending upon the final terms of employment and achievement of established targets. 

Individual compensation is based upon a number of factors, including qualifications and relevant experience. 

The base salary range above is for the New York City metro area and could vary for candidates in other locations.
