Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.The DEI journey at UC began in 2023 with a small group of passionate individuals who took the initiative to raise awareness, and build a more inclusive culture. We started by creating a DEI Committee that decided to aggregate the DEI work in a DEI calendar. The idea was that every month the company would spotlight a different community, and facilitate the kind of experiences that lead to a better company culture. Now, as our efforts have grown, we’re excited to take the next step by bringing in an expert who can further drive our mission and help us make an even greater impact.As a DEI Expert, you will lead and implement strategies that foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture across the organization. This role will work closely with leadership, HR, and the DEI Committee. The goal will be to lead cultural initiatives to promote DEI, deliver education and training on key topics, and ensure that our value strategies are embedded in every aspect of our company’s operations.
Your Tasks- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement DEI strategies and programs aligned with the company’s overall mission, company values and business objectives.
- Education & Training: Conduct workshops, training sessions, and DEI learning programs such as inclusive leadership, allyship or cultural competency.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Define and track key DEI metrics to assess the impact of initiatives and analyze diversity data to measure the effectiveness of our initiatives. Also, stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging issues related to diversity and inclusion.
- Documentation: Lead the creation and management of DEI documentation, including the annual DEI activity report, ensuring comprehensive and transparent reporting of company initiatives.
- Employee Engagement: Collaborate and lead culture groups (GiveBack, DEI, Value Ambassador teams) to foster community and support for underrepresented groups within the organization.
- Advisory Role: Act as a DEI consultant to e.g. leadership or HR, offering recommendations on retention practices that promote diversity and inclusion or inclusive hiring practices, ensuring diverse candidate pipelines.
- Event Planning: Lead DEI-related events such as awareness months, recognition, cultural celebrations, and workshops to promote dialogue and inclusion.
- Partnership Development: Build strategic relationships with nonprofits, represent the company’s DEI initiatives at conferences, and explore collaborative opportunities to enhance company practices.
- Social Media and Employer branding: Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the company’s DEI representation across social media platforms and contribute to employer branding efforts by integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all external communication channels.
- Policies - Work with Legal/HR to recommend changes to company policies and benefits and make sure we are aligned with ESG obligations for DEI.
- Experience: 2+ years experience in DEI roles or related HR/People functions with a focus on diversity initiatives, inclusion programs, and equity-driven policies.
- Passion: Strong passion for fostering inclusive environments and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that every voice is heard, valued, and empowered.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of DEI principles, cultural competence, and current developments in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Bottom-up Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, own and execute DEI programs, working cross-functionally within a matrixed organization.
- Data-Driven: Ability to analyze diversity metrics and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Familiarity with local and international diversity legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) or similar community-building initiatives.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
