VaynerCommerce is a digital-first firm that takes an engineering approach to driving sustainable growth. It was started by former early Shopify Plus employees, and was born from the frustration that brands were left with no good options in the market when it came to building sustainable online customer growth. VaynerCommerce serves as a strategic partner, with an implementation arm across data science, engineering, design, financial modeling, media & creative, and merchandising for brands that want to sustainably grow their Direct-to-Consumer business. VaynerCommerce works across Fortune 100, Venture Capital, and Private Equity-backed consumer brands.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Design Lead at VaynerCommerce, you will be responsible for leading and managing talented designers, overseeing the end-to-end design process, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that exceed client expectations. This role requires a blend of strong design expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
DESIGN LEAD KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- DESIGNERS MANAGEMENT:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
- DESIGN DIRECTION & STRATEGY:
- Define and drive the overall design strategy and direction for projects, aligning with the company's vision and goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to design and strategy across various platforms and mediums.
This role requires a partial ability to write copy for specific channels depending on strategy. For example, emails, landing pages and ads.
- TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:
- Possess advanced technical knowledge of design tools, with a strong emphasis on expertise in Figma.
- Examples: Building components, building brand guidelines, structuring figma files for clients and internal use.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the team's capabilities.
- SYSTEMS THINKING:
- Apply a systems thinking approach to design systems, viewing them as interconnected and interdependent elements within the broader organizational ecosystem.
- Identify and understand the relationships between various components of the design system and their impact on the overall user experience and business objectives.
- CLIENT INTERACTION:
- Act as a key point of contact between the design team and clients, understanding their needs and translating them into effective design solutions.
- Present design concepts, strategies, and deliverables to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
- INITIATIVE & INNOVATION:
- Take the initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the design team.
- Encourage a culture of innovation and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of conventional design thinking.
- TIME MANAGEMENT:
- Effectively manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of design assets while maintaining high quality.
- Prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
This role goes beyond being a stellar designer. Being an excellent designer is key and expected, but so is brainstorming and researching creative solutions based on target audience, branding and trends. You see design as a tool that can help customers achieve their goals and elevate the brand experience. You are truly invested in learning and teaching others (not just designers) about things that inspire you to be the best Design Lead in the world. The ideal candidate understands that data is in the backbone of all our deliverables. We value performance and factor it into our designs because this allows us to be flexible in an ever changing space and concrete when justifying our design approach. If you have 4-5 years of experience, developing and creating various designs for brands this role could be perfect for you.

- Base Salary $105,000 - $120,000
