Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Mid-Level DevOps Database Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to play a key role in the design, implementation, and management of our database systems within a cloud environment. Your expertise in DevOps practices, cloud technologies, automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, and proficiency in Python programming will contribute to the stability, scalability, and efficiency of our database infrastructure

You will:

  • Collaborate with teams to gather and understand database requirements, contributing insights for architectural decisions.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems on cloud platforms, focusing on optimizing Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Ansible, Terraform, and Python to provision, configure, and manage database instances and clusters.
  • Participate in version control processes to manage infrastructure code and configurations effectively.
  • Assist in monitoring and optimizing database performance, addressing potential bottlenecks and issues.
  • Contribute to the establishment of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement data protection and compliance measures within the database environment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving database-related incidents, working alongside team members to analyze root causes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, databases, cloud computing, and Python programming.
  • Participate in rotational on-call support to ensure 24/7 coverage for critical database systems.

You have:

  • Mid-Level DevOps Database Engineer (Cloud, Ansible, Terraform, Python) - 3-4 Years Experience - MUST
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of practical experience as a DevOps Engineer or Database Engineer with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, with hands-on experience in Google Cloud SQL, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Google Compute Engine.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and tools, including Ansible and Terraform.
  • Basic programming skills in Python for automation, scripting, and basic tool development.
  • Fundamental understanding of database management systems, including exposure to database design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable in cross-functional teams.
