Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and Maintain ServiceNow Discovery Application:
    • Develop and customize Discovery patterns, probes, and sensors to meet organizational needs.
    • Manage and optimize Discovery schedules, MID Servers, and credentials.
    • Ensure regular updates of the Pure ServiceNow applications used in the CMDB
  • Collaborate with Configuration Management:
    • Work closely with the Configuration Manager to ensure accurate CMDB population and data integrity.
    • Collaborate with IT, network, and security teams to ensure proper access and permissions
  • Resolve Discovery Issues:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve Discovery errors related to permissions, access, and configuration.
    • Assist in validating and testing Discovery processes after system upgrades.
    • Review the environment for changes and new requirements that may drive updates to the Discovery solution.
  • Support and Documentation:
    • Provide support for the ServiceNow platform, resolving incident tickets and fulfilling service requests.
    • Document all development and maintenance work to ensure knowledge transfer and system maintainability.
  • Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
    • Perform regular code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
    • Adhere to the organization operating model.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with team members, process owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and achieve project goals.
    • Attend and participate in team meetings and collaborative planning activities.
    • Influence and positively impact productivity, efficiency, and employee satisfaction levels.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends:
    • Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Keep up-to-date with ServiceNow development best practices and trends.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Administrator or Developer with a focus on Discovery and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and ITOM.
    • Proficient in developing and customizing Discovery patterns, probes and sensors.
    • Windows server administration.
    • Familiarity with JavaScript, Business Rules, Flow Designer, ACLs, Script Includes.
    • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs to integrate ServiceNow with other systems.
    • Working knowledge of networking, systems administration, and security protocols.
    • Knowledge of environments hosted in Azure and AWS are plus
    • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM modules.
  • Certifications:
    • ServiceNow Certified Administrator (CSA)
    • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - Discovery is a plus
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously.
    • Team player who can collaborate effectively across different teams.
    • Quick learner who can draw meaningful conclusions from independent research.
