THE ROLE

Join the Infrastructure Shared Service (ISS) team in Prague, an international organization vital to Pure Storage's engineering success. We are seeking a passionate and driven DevOps Engineer to enhance our global development environment and production services. In this critical role, you will be the driving force behind building, deploying, and optimizing our product features, directly impacting the quality and reliability of services used by all internal engineering teams. You will set the stage for continuous integration and continuous deployment, collaborating closely with Product Managers and developers to ensure our software development processes are robust, automated, and designed for superior customer outcomes. This position offers a unique chance to blend software engineering expertise with systems thinking on a global scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Accelerate Product Delivery: Design, implement, and advocate for automation strategies for new product releases, ensuring fast and reliable continuous integration and continuous deployment across our environments.
  • Drive System Resilience: Partner with engineering teams on system design, capacity planning, and launch reviews to prepare services for production readiness and guarantee optimal performance before they go live.
  • Develop Core Services: Write and integrate software using Go/Python to seamlessly connect with internal back-end systems, improving overall infrastructure efficiency and functionality.
  • Optimize Production Services: Own the design, operation, and maintenance of product features in production, leveraging data and metrics to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement based on customer needs.
  • Foster Global Collaboration: Work within a distributed team across various business units and time zones to share knowledge, align strategies, and collectively deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Shape Project Direction: Apply your technical expertise to influence project planning and be an active contributor to Product Management decisions, ensuring technical feasibility and long-term maintainability.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar systems-focused role.
  • Demonstrated coding ability in any of programming language (preferably Go / Python)
  • Hands-on experience in the design, successful implementation, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise-level software systems.
  • Proven expertise in working with containers and container orchestration systems, specifically Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, and automation/CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and/or ArgoCD.
  • A systematic and methodical approach to problem-solving, coupled with excellent communication skills, a high degree of ownership, and a strong personal drive.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
