We are seeking a Devops engineer, passionate in backend development to join the Symphony engineering group. 

Our Team is in charge of designing, implementing and maintaining core messaging features for the Symphony ecosystem, with key specificities regarding security and compliancy. We are operating in a multi-cloud environment with a strong devops mindset.

As a DevOps engineer you will cover all aspects of the backend lifecycle, from local environment to Production deployment, including also test environment and continuous integration. Main objective is to reduce as much as possible the time to market of new applications and new versions, while maintaining our key environments for our customers.

You will focus on automation, reliability and operability of the applications and you will work in close coordination with Java developers and Infrastructure team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and support automation and tooling required to build, deploy and operate the Symphony deliverables in a public cloud environment and following a gitops approach.
  • Continuously adapt and improve the tooling, processes to deliver new features, new applications and new frameworks.
  • Support the infrastructure needs by collaborating with site reliability engineers.
  • Participate constructively and collaboratively in backend design and code reviews
  • Participate in the maintenance of existing environments in Production and Test.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science and 3+ years’ experience in software development, including proven experience in Java server-side development
  • Solid background in Java backend development is a must, with experience with Maven
  • Experience with jenkins or other CI tooling.
  • Public Cloud experience. Kubernetes is appreciated.
  • Ability to learn and use new frameworks and new tooling fast.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly collaborative and agile global environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills and good understanding of the best practices for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software.
