DevOps Engineer

What skills do I need?
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Exposure and facility with the following is beneficial: Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, AWS, Azure, Go, Typescript, Prometheus/Mimir/Thanos, Terraform.
- Understanding and experience of enterprise data persistence layers (both NoSQL and SQL databases, key/value stores, messaging like AMQP/MQTT, etc) is relevant.
- Independent of any one technology, experience in managing cloud-based workloads at scale - and understanding the need for effective observability and monitoring - are challenges we are currently addressing.
- And in harmony with Tulip’s overall ethos, candidates should have an interest in designing and continuously improving internal processes throughout our organization.
- Experience with US companies is a plus but not required
- Experience with startups is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- The DevOps team is responsible for the development, deployment, health, and management of Tulip’s multi-cloud SaaS environments.
- The team also owns the CI/CD infrastructure, internally-developed tools, and generally supports developers that are designing and building Tulip applications and services.
- We see the harmonization of infrastructure and software as a key factor for our success. That's why DevOps is closely connected to our developers during the entire software lifecycle.
- This role involves being part of an on-call rotation for coverage with the rest of the team.
About the TechOps Engineering Team:
The TechOps Engineering team (also known as DevOps team in EU) is responsible for "keeping the lights on", handling the fast growing customer workload across the globe (from US to China, we host Tulip everywhere) as well as owning and evolving the entire cloud architecture. The team is using modern tools, technologies and processes to automate the entire cloud software lifecycle. This means finding creative ways to use the fast changing cloud technology to ensure customers’ stability and availability. Automating everything without the need of human-interaction is our credo.
You will be part of a collaborative team that interacts with many other teams in Tulip's engineering organization.
