Director, Brasil Tax

DIRECTOR, TAX (BRASIL)
Starlink has been operating in Brasil for over a year to bring high-speed satellite internet connectivity across all regions in Brasil and seeing rapid growth across the country. With one of the most complicated tax regimes in the world, we know taxes in Brasil can be complex and difficult. Thus, the company is looking to add a new Director, Tax (Brasil) to be based in Sao Paulo and handle the challenges and responsivities of overseeing all Brasil taxes for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all direct tax and indirect tax matters for Brasil
- Responsible for coordinating with local tax advisors, legal advisors and BPO service providers for filing all direct and indirect tax returns, e-invoice compliance requirements, and tax planning
- Responsible for handling all tax audits and tax disputes in Brasil
- Work with internal sales and operations team, as well as our enterprise customers, to ensure taxes are correctly charged and reported
- Work with internal customs, logistic and operations team, as well as third party logistics companies, on Nota Fiscal and import and delivery related tax issues
- Work with internal and external accounting teams on financial statement related matters, including local tax provision for our Brasil entities
- Work with internal and external transfer pricing teams on intercompany, transfer pricing related matters
- Keep up with over tax changes in Brasil
- Assist with other LatAm country tax issues on as needed basis
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in accounting, tax, business or law in Brasil
- 10+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting or at a multinational firm with extensive operations in Brasil
- Bilingual Portuguese and English
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior Big 4 public accounting experience in Brasil
- Experience working for or with multinational companies
- Extensive experience with Brasil indirect taxes
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently with head office in the US
