We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cloud Revenue and Operations to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems and process implementation around ASC 606 and have a long history of process improvements that enable scaling with future growth, as well as a track record of successful project management. Responsibilities include establishing scalable cloud revenue processes and procedures while being a business advisor to support the company's overall strategic objectives and its cloud growth plan. This role will manage a team that works cross functionally across the organization and report to VP of Revenue Accounting and Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cloud revenue accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate accounting of monthly close and reporting.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for consumption-based revenue recognition to support the company's cloud business growth with both direct and marketplace customers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for new cloud product launch, system and process enhancement UAT to ensure proper implementation of technical and operational revenue processes.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics and Integration teams to develop revenue data warehouse and automate revenue reporting to support both internal and external reporting needs.
  • Partner with Finance teams to assist with revenue forecasting and develop processes to drive accuracy and scalability.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to a team of accounting professionals to grow their career, including development of technical and soft skills and fostering a collaborative, inclusive and efficient work environment.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements across various functions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue recognition.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of leadership in revenue accounting and reporting under US GAAP, mix of public accounting (Big 4 experience will be a strong plus) and SaaS Software industry.
  • CPA required
  • Consumption-based revenue operational experience is required
  • Demonstrated success in leading revenue accounting functions through rapid growth and expanding product and services offerings through Hyperscalers Marketplace (i.e. GCP, AWS and/or Azure).
  • Proven experience in leading improvement of systems, processes and data automation initiatives that are SOX -compliant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and all management levels.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant enterprise SaaS tools (i.e.: SFDC, NetSuite, RevPro, BigQuery, etc.); experience in using SQL is desired.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
