About the job

This position is needed to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of operational resilience strategies and programs at Twilio. This position, reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Security, will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our operations can withstand and recover from disruptive events while minimizing the impact on critical business processes, requiring a combination of strategic thinking, risk management expertise, and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management teams.
  • Develop and implement an operational resilience framework to identify, assess, and manage risks that could potentially disrupt business operations.
  • Collaborate with business units to assess their operational resilience requirements and define strategies to enhance resilience.
  • Lead the design and support the implementation of business continuity plans, disaster recovery procedures, and crisis management protocols.
  • Establish metrics to measure and monitor the effectiveness of operational resilience initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends related to operational resilience.
  • Foster a culture of operational resilience by raising awareness, providing training, and promoting incident response preparedness throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular testing, simulations, and drills to evaluate the effectiveness of operational resilience plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, technology teams, risk and compliance officers, and external service providers, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to disruptive events.
  • Prepare and present reports on operational resilience initiatives, progress, and results to senior management and relevant committees.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years in the private sector, or 4+ years in the public sector with 3+ years in the private sector, proven experience in operational resilience, business continuity, risk management, or related disciplines, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Excellent understanding of business processes, technology systems, and the interdependencies between various functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing operational resilience strategies, plans, and policies.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives and collaborate across different teams and departments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, or a related field.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Proficiency with Fusion Risk Management, Atlas, Ontic

This role will be Remote and based in the USA.

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $160,000 - $205,000
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $174,000 - $217,000
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
