This represents a 14% compound annual growth rate). At MongoDB we are transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading developer data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

The Strategic Developer Relations Team at MongoDB is focused on enabling our largest and most important customers to use MongoDB technology effectively. This team is the tip of the spear within our strategic accounts, working with our customers' developers and executives, as well as key MongoDB stakeholders (e.g., field, marketing) to drive adoption of MongoDB solutions within these accounts. We are seeking a senior technical leader to take on the responsibility of managing and growing this team as we rapidly expand our business. The mission of this team is to capture the imagination of new and potential MongoDB users within these accounts, to enable developers as they begin their MongoDB journey, and to guide development teams as they design for new or replatformed workloads. As the leader of the Strategic Developer Relations team, you will manage a group of our most experienced technical advocates, evolve the program to broaden and deepen its scope across market segments, and assist in the delivery of events — both campus-scale and team-scale — to customers throughout the world. If you are passionate about data and helping developers to engineer some of the most performant, scalable, and efficient solutions of their careers, then come join us in shaping the future of development on MongoDB.

Our Developer Relations team is globally distributed and the group works both remotely and onsite with our customers. This role can be located in North America or Europe. Please check out our latest content and activity to see what our team is up to.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for a hands-on leader, not just a people manager. The right candidate is not afraid to get technically deep; in fact, they thrive on it. If this sounds like you, you will be a player/coach in every sense. As Director, Strategic Developer Relations, you will spearhead our strategic account engagement initiatives. You are known for your deep data modeling expertise, your insight into developer enablement and/or training programs, and your ability to lead development teams through the adoption of new technologies. Your recent experience includes consulting with developers on data-related challenges and moving them toward solutions for their real-world performance and scalability problems. Your experience also includes exercising leadership within organizations for defining, adopting, and scaling new programs. Direct experience with MongoDB or other so-called "NoSQL" databases is not mandatory but is a strong plus.

With at least 10 years of experience in technical roles – preferably multiple years as a consultant, developer, or in a similar capacity – you have a deep understanding of developer ecosystems and how developers best adopt new technologies. You excel at explaining complex technical concepts in simple terms and have a natural ability to connect and communicate with developers of various skill levels.

With at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role (more is a strong plus), you excel in managing technical teams and in exercising soft leadership internally to influence and guide stakeholders toward maximizing the business impact of your program.

Collaboration and empowerment are at the heart of your leadership style. You'll work closely with team members at various levels, overseeing content creation, event delivery, and knowledge sharing. Your focus is not just on individual success but on elevating the entire team, enabling them to be more productive and successful.
