We're seeking an experienced Director, Developer Advocacy with a strong developer background to lead a globally distributed team of Developer Advocates with the mission of empowering developers to innovate and secure their apps with Auth0. Driven by community building, empathy and a passion to make an impact, this person will define and drive developer relations strategy, grow community advocacy programs, and collaborate cross-functionally across Developer Marketing, Developer Content, high-impact Developer events, Social Media, Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
The team is internationally distributed, with a strong presence in Europe and the United States. This role will be responsible for the global developer advocacy strategy across all regions.What You Will Do
- Define, direct, and mentor a globally distributed team of Developer Advocates to execute on the long-term vision and strategy for the Developer Advocacy organization.
- Own long-term vision and global/regional developer relations strategies, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and product priorities.
- Speak on technical topics at developer conferences, especially around the latest trends like AI, etc.
- Work with Developer Marketing, Developer Events and Social Media to maximize the impact of the team of Developer Advocates throughout Developer audiences with events either live or on-demand, in person or remote.
- Serve as a key liaison between the developer community, the developer Advocates and internal Product/Engineering teams, influencing the product roadmap based on developer feedback and market trends.
- Work with external developer-oriented partners to detect, build and promote integrations or partnerships.
- Build, nurture, and scale internal and external community advocacy programs.
- Establish, monitor and evolve metrics and Key Performance Indicators around the impact of Developer Advocacy activities and initiatives.
- Drive business growth and developer adoption by defining metrics and initiatives that directly impact key business outcomes.
- Establish the company as a thought leader in the developer community through strategic content, events, and partnerships.
- Manage the Developer Advocacy budget, resource allocation, and operational efficiency to maximize impact and ROI.
What You Bring
- 5+ years Proven of experience leading and developing a high-performing Developer Relations, Developer Evangelism, or Technology Evangelism or Community Advocacy teams/programs
- Obsession with making developers happy. You were a full-time developer, but you prefer to work with the developer community to improve experience and support through education.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse and remote workforce, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
- Experience in defining, measuring, and reporting on key business outcomes for developer relations (e.g., product adoption, community growth).
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical strategy into quantifiable business results.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and C-level executives.
- Passion about latest trends like AI, etc.
- Strong verbal, written, and public presentation skills
- Compelling storyteller who can engage and educate the developer community
- Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Experience in identity; authentication, authorization, access management, open standards preferred
- Experience building online communities or managing community advocacy programs preferred
- 8+ years of software or web development experience preferred

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$206,000—$308,000 CADWhat you can look forward to as a Full-Time Okta employee!
