The Director of Digital & Web Strategy will lead the charge in developing and executing innovative digital strategies to increase website traffic, enhance user engagement, and maximize conversion rates. This role is critical in shaping the digital presence of our brand, ensuring our web experiences are engaging, intuitive, and drive results. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a deep understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and user experience, and is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights to fuel growth. We have an increased emphasis on using PLG and e-commerce practices to drive revenue.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and Execute Digital Strategy: Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy focused on our ICP and key personas to increase website traffic and improve user engagement across all digital touchpoints
  • Optimize Web Experience: Oversee the design and optimization of the company website and digital platforms, ensuring a seamless, user-friendly experience that drives conversions and customer satisfaction
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics tools and performance data to continually assess the effectiveness of digital strategies, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization. Set KPIs, track progress, and report on performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for future improvements
  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Develop and implement strategies to maximize conversion rates, leveraging A/B testing, personalization, user journey mapping, and other optimization techniques
  • SEO and Content Strategy: Collaborate with the SEO team and content creators to enhance organic search performance and ensure that web content is aligned with digital marketing goals
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with field and growth marketing and all functions in marketing, product, and sales teams to align digital strategies with overall business objectives and ensure a cohesive brand experience
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay current on digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously innovate and improve the digital strategy

What We're Looking For 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Media, Creative Design or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, web strategy, and user experience, with a proven track record of increasing website traffic and conversion rates
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, content marketing, social media, email nurture, and paid advertising
  • Expertise in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and conversion rate optimization techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative digital strategies that drive growth and meet business objectives
  • Experience with A/B testing, user journey mapping, and other user experience optimization methods
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Highly creative, innovative, and results-oriented mindset
  • Experience working with SaaS companies who target developers and technical audience is a big plus

Work Hours

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours working on West Coast time zone, with flexibility to meet with Global colleagues across Central, East Coast, as well as Europe and Asia Pacific.

Work Location & Travel Requirements 

This position is open to the following office location:

  • San Francisco, CA - this role will be hybrid working out of the SF office 2-3 days/week 

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. The Marketing team works from the SF office two or more days per week, usually on Tue, Wed, or Thurs.

This position may require occasional travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $181,220 to $ 226,520.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
