Opportunity for Impact:

Reporting to the VP of Communications, you will lead Payoneer’s global media relations, corporate communications, and issues and crisis management program to enhance Payoneer’s brand, strengthen its market position, and support its business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of corporate communications, media dynamics, and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with senior executives and other key stakeholders globally across marketing, investor relations, product/tech, and HR to craft compelling narratives that enhance Payoneer’s visibility and reputation.

Role and Responsibilities:

Media Relations, Corporate Communications

  • Lead the development and execution of a global media relations program to secure high-impact coverage in top tier business, financial and tech media that raises awareness and understanding of the company's vision and strategy and helps drive demand for our solutions.
  • Work closely with the executive team to ensure our media relations strategy and activities are aligned to business goals and collaborate with the wider organization to develop creative, integrated external communications programs.
  • Orchestrate and activate our regional comms teams, spokespeople, agencies, customers and partners, enabling and empowering them to tell locally relevant and compelling stories around the world.
  • Work with the leadership team and subject matter experts to develop key narratives, metrics, and programs that elevate Payoneer's reputation and industry positioning with a diverse audience, including customers, employees, investors, and partners.
  • Manage relationships with key media outlets and stakeholders.
  • Drive the development of pan-regional external communications strategy and tactics, working closely with marketing and comms leaders in country.
  • Manage agency teams and partners across multiple countries and optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and track benchmarks and metrics to measure communications, content, social, and media relations effectiveness.

Thought Leadership

  • Create thought leadership platforms and lead the development of content—including data reports, bylines and blogs—to drive coverage and engagement.
  • Develop regional strategies and proactive media engagement for spokespeople while actively monitoring the external news environment for expert commentary opportunities.
  • Monitor media coverage and manage media inquiries and responses.

Crisis Communications and Issues Management

  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of the crisis communication playbook and plans.
  • Anticipate, manage, and mitigate corporate crisis situations, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional rapid response teams focused on communications to effectively manage reputational challenges, market events, or other crisis communications issues.

Performance, Team, and Stakeholder Management

  • Establish operational objectives, metrics, and work plans to achieve communication OKRs.
  • Oversee measurement and reporting of global programs, ensuring goals are achieved and all activities fall within budget.
  • Foster best practices and a results-driven mindset in how the global communications team operates.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications and media relations within fintech, financial services, or a related field.
  • Strong relationships with top-tier business, financial, and fintech media, with a demonstrated ability to secure impactful press coverage.
  • Proven experience in crisis and issues management, with the ability to navigate complex reputational challenges.
  • Exceptional writing and content development skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, industry trends, and market dynamics within the global payments and fintech ecosystem.
  • Experience managing agency teams, managing budgets and deliverables effectively.
  • Digital, social and emerging media expertise, with an understanding of how to leverage these channels for corporate storytelling.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Calm under pressure and a sense of humor!
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

In accordance with New York City Law, below is the annual base salary range for this position. Actual annual base salary is based on, but not limited to: experience, education, professional licenses, location and business needs. The position is eligible for health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k plan, paid-time off, and sick (and where applicable safe) leave. This position is also eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.

The annual base salary range for this position is: $190,000-$240,000
