Director, Global Event Marketing

The ChallengeAs a key member of the Global Brand Marketing team, the Brand Events Director will play a crucial role in shaping and executing OneTrust’s flagship annual event, TrustWeek. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional, tailored in-person and digital experiences focused on bringing together our customer and partner communities to share stories, best practices and knowledge on the industries we serve and our technology platform.
Leading a global team of employees and contractors, this leader would be responsible for the strategy and vision for their group as well as all aspects of event planning, budgeting, production, stakeholder management, content programming, customer experience management (NPS & Customer Satisfaction), as well as the onsite execution. This role will partner closely with our global marketing organization, sales, customer success, and communication teams to deliver the best experience to our customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
This leader must be detail oriented, organized, and a creative and strategic thinker. Ideal candidate is able to work effectively as part of a team, drive stakeholder alignment, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to think ahead and keep the event innovative, staying ahead of industry trends and creating memorable customer experiences that continue to break boundaries and activate our brand.
Your Mission Event strategy & growth:- Event strategy: Lead flagship user conference from initial conception, strategy, and goal setting through planning and execution aligned to company annual growth targets.
- Team management: Manage multi-million-dollar budget, direct team of 3, and agency partners and contractors.
- Registration & sponsorship management: Works in partnership with the field and partner marketing teams to ensure registration and sponsor goals are set and supporting with event enablement and promotion deliverables.
- Senior stakeholder management: Propose and get buy-in on the overall event plan and define the required resources and timeline to deliver on the approach.
- Event metrics: Responsible for establishing and executing on an analytical and data-driven approach to measure event results YoY. Responsible for increasing event traffic YoY.
- Future community events: Responsible for ideation and planning for supporting community-driven event programming, in-person and virtual formats.
- Project management & budget: Build and own overall project plan and timelines for logistics management and intersections with event agency and content team. Owns and manages total spend/budget and contract negotiations across all elements of the event.
- Event agency management: Manage production agency contract and project planning; responsible for oversight for ALL agency deliverables and quality assurance.
- Event production & logistics: Manage all sourcing, production, travel, accommodations, and registration. Directs agency on all needs for AV, IT, buildout, F&B, hotel, etc. Responsible for ideation, planning and execution of onsite event branding and unique networking events to maximize attendee experience.
- Venue management: Manage all site visits for conference and networking, plan space layouts, and capacity planning for all sessions and ancillary events
- Onsite meeting management: Responsible for driving 1:1 meeting process, technology needs and communications with internal stakeholders
- Staffing management: Manage all OneTrust employee staffing requirements, communications, travel needs and pre-event training to ensure event exceeds OneTrust standards.
- Event technology management:Lead event technology selection, maintenance and continuous improvement across pre, during and post event (NPS, Salesforce, CVENT, lead capture, etc)
- Understands external environment, OneTrust strategies and objectives, target audiences, and event management to drive event attendee journey.
- Partners with marketing, product and customer experience leadership teams to research, brainstorm, and develop strategic content plan for TrustWeek
- Communicates regularly with key internal audiences, including executive management, to gather feedback, influence direction, and provide status on TrustWeek content strategy.
- Responsible for partnering with enablement and communication teams internally to ensure alignment on key messages and announcements before, during and after the event. Also leads any initiatives to re-package content into live streams, on-demand events or for internal training purposes.

- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across the globe.

- Passion for working in a lean, fast-paced organization, and desire to own and refine processes.
- An energetic and can-do attitude with ability to rally teams around an initiative.
- 12+ years’ experience in event curation, experience design and production in a global corporate environment; B2B SaaS is highly preferred.
- Experience owning the major aspects of a large-scale (1,000+ attendees) world-class conferences, with a focus on customer and community centered events. Experience growing a conference YoY with a variety of audience types and levels.
- Hands-on experience sourcing and hosting virtual and live-stream events for thousands of global viewers.
- 5+ years’ experience managing a team, including agency partners.
- Bachelor's in marketing, design, business, or related field experience.
- Experience managing a multi-million-dollar event budget and negotiating large contracts.
- Experience and knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of audiences at all levels of seniority, across functions and geographies – a strong presence and experience in presenting to senior audiences.
- Must have a positive and friendly manner, with a strong service orientation, high degree of flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills, able to translate data-driven insights into marketing strategy recommendations.
- Ability to visualize what the future of this event could be in a 1, 5, 10 year plan.
