Director, Growth Marketing - Velocity Team

We are seeking a strategic Director of Growth Marketing to lead our dynamic new Velocity Team. The Director will be responsible for spearheading innovative strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role demands an experienced leader with exposure to all aspects of a Product-Led Growth (PLG) environment, a strong analytical mindset, a passion for experimentation, and a proven track record of delivering measurable results in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  •  Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Velocity Team, fostering a culture of innovation,

  • Orientation, customer centricity and fearlessness.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies focused on user/customer acquisition,

    engagement, and retention across multiple channels.

  •  Establish and maintain cross-functional relationships, metrics, and team culture norms.

  • Manage a diverse team of two to five individual contributors and managers spanning a variety of

    analytical and creative disciplines.

  • Drive a culture that is obsessed with the latest marketing technologies, AI tools, PLG experiences

and trends in customer experience and acquisition.

 

User/Customer Acquisition:

  •  Oversee the development and execution of strategies for driving user/customer acquisition through digital advertising, content marketing, SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and partnerships.

  • Collaborate closely with the broader marketing team to ensure alignment and synergy in acquisition efforts.

  • Lead the flexible generation of traffic to supplement the efforts of the core marketing team across paid and organic channels, community and events engagement, partner content, docs content optimization and various other traffic generation channels and opportunities.

  • Conversion Optimization

  •  Lead initiatives to optimize conversion rates at every stage of the customer journey through rigorous experimentation, A/B testing, and multivariate experiments.

  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement in conversion metrics.

  • Data-Driven Insights

     

Product-Market Fit:

  • Collaborate closely with product management and development teams to understand user needs and drive product enhancements.

  • Ensure alignment of growth strategies with customer requirements and product capabilities.

    Cross-Functional Depth:

  •  Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and customer success, to drive alignment and ensure cohesive execution of growth initiatives.

  • Get into the details of UXD, Lifecycle, Inside Sales, Data Science, Behavioral Psychology,

    Finance and be able to collaborate across a team of individuals with these areas of expertise.

  • Act as a bridge between teams to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Marketing, Business, or related field.

  •  7+ years of relevant experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, product-led sales, or related roles, preferably in a technology-driven environment

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $244,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
