We’re a leading online reviews platform, free and open to all. Our mission is to be a universal symbol of trust. We are well on our way — but there’s still an exciting journey ahead of us. Do you want to join us at the heart of trust?

We are looking to hire an experienced, enthusiastic, and tech-savvy commercial lawyer with a proven track-record of success in fast-growing, global, technology businesses, to join us and develop a fantastic group of lawyers and paralegals within our Legal & Privacy team that are responsible for advising the business on a broad range of commercial related matters.

This is an important role with the potential for high impact at a time when we’re enjoying rapid growth and scaling into new markets, providing a unique opportunity for involvement on a number of strategic commercial projects and initiatives, as well as the ‘day-to-day’. Think developing a strategy for how best to leverage A.I. within the Legal Team one minute, to partnering our Commercial Team on the development of a new b2b service to be rolled out globally, the next.

We’d like to hear from confident, and committed people who relish a challenge and are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in!

 What you’ll be doing:

  • Line managing, and providing leadership and inspiration to, a talented group of lawyers and paralegals on a broad range of legal matters globally.
  • Partnering with the business on a wide range of day-to-day commercial matters and larger strategic commercial projects across multiple jurisdictions, providing thought leadership and assisting to shape strategy in this area.
  • Horizon scanning for new legislation and local legal requirements (globally), to ensure ensure Trustpilot can realise its growth potential as it scales into new markets.
  • Strengthening legal and policy frameworks, including refreshing and standardising template contractual documents, policies and playbooks in order to deliver contracting at scale and accelerate Trustpilot’s ability to engage the world.
  • Supporting other key stakeholders across the business with a broad variety of other corporate, commercial and compliance related legal matters.
  • Identifying and implementing new, innovative and automated ways of working, utilising technology where possible to create greater operational efficiencies across the wider Legal & Privacy team.

Who you are:

  • You have a right to practice law in England & Wales, Scotland or Denmark.
  • You have a minimum of 8 years’ PQE, gained at least partly in-house and ideally in the technology sector.
  • You have a comprehensive commercial law background, with experience of working across multiple jurisdictions. Ideally, you also have broader legal experience and the ability to advise on a full range of corporate and compliance related legal matters.
  • Regardless of your experience to date, you have a ‘growth’ mindset, are excited by new opportunities, thriving in situations where you are outside of your comfort zone and being asked to handle novel tasks.
  • You have extensive knowledge of SaaS contracting and associated frameworks, software licensing and other technology agreements in a multi jurisdictional environment. Within this, you have delivered contracting at scale measures at a global level.
  • You possess significant leadership skills with experience of leading a team or managing / supporting others.
  • You are proactive, a keen learner and take responsibility for your own work.
  • You have high attention to detail but are pragmatic and pride yourself on your ability to give practical, business-oriented advice.
  • You are focused and enjoy the buzz that comes from having multiple matters on the go at the same time.
  • You are always looking for ways to improve things and use your own initiative to propose solutions where you identify problems.
  • You are excited about technology and the role that A.I. can play in transforming the delivery of legal work.
  • You have extensive organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to navigate multiple demands and work at speed to meet tight deadlines.
  • You are collaborative with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels across multiple locations.
  • You are comfortable working both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced, global organisation.
  • You are an innovative, commercially-minded individual who has an interest in, and desire for new technology, problem-solving and improving process delivery.
  • You speak and write English fluently - it’s our business language within Trustpilot.
  • Knowledge of Google suite, MS Word & Excel and DocuSign is desirable

What’s in it for you:

  • A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
  • Competitive compensation package + bonus
  • 28 days holiday plus two (paid) volunteering days a year to spend your time giving back to the causes that matter to you and your community
  • Rich learning and development opportunities supported through the Trustpilot Academy, LinkedIn Learning and Blinkist
