ROLE DESCRIPTION:  

We’re looking for a Director, Marketing Growth Strategy to help us accelerate self-serve revenue growth and transform Hootsuite’s e-commerce business into a product-led sales motion. As a data-driven leader on the Marketing Growth team, you’ll work with channel leaders and Product teams to develop and execute optimization tests across the customer journey, responsible for achieving key business results supporting acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization objectives. You’ll be Marketing’s foremost subject matter expert in experimentation and growth hacking, advising teams on best practices for test design, measuring results, and prioritizing efforts and resources. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Responsible for guiding the Marketing Growth experimentation engine, developing and executing effective growth strategies and tests that drive customer acquisition across digital channels. 
  • Work with teams and channel leaders through the more nuanced aspects of experimentation: when to test, how to test, how to think about trade-offs and opportunity cost, statistical significance and testing cycle length, and measuring the right outcomes.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to design tests for the entire customer journey, driving key metrics that support customer activation, retention, and monetization objectives
  • Build the capability of the Marketing Growth teams to implement effective optimization tests and provide detailed analysis of results and learnings. Evangelize those insights across the organization to empower teams while informing new test hypotheses, product roadmaps, and other growth initiatives
  • Manage a team, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management, and all other people-management practices, including DE&I.
  • Cultivate and nurture a culture of innovation and experimentation within Marketing and across Product and Engineering teams, encouraging the exploration and implementation of new tactics, technologies, and tests. 
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify new growth opportunities, measure performance, and inform strategic decision-making
  • Present growth metrics and strategic insights to senior leadership, providing actionable recommendations to inform high-level decision-making.
  • Measure and communicate results, successes, opportunities, learnings, and improvements on a diverse range of initiatives in a clear, simple, and engaging manner to senior leadership
  • Work with business analysts on the Finance Team and play a key role in the construction of regular forecasts and assist in finding ways to improve forecast accuracy

  WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 15+ years experience in data analysis, marketing analytics, marketing growth, product growth, and/or product management
  • Post-secondary degree in economics, applied mathematics, and/or business. MBA or similar an asset, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent functional knowledge of SaaS and eCommerce business models, with a proven ability to use data to analyze marketing funnels, and recommend changes that result in large improvements
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful growth strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies
  • Strong knowledge and technical skills with web analytics and data management tools
  • Expert knowledge of testing frameworks and proven ability to develop and oversee testing at scale while using statistics to identify the highest impact areas for experimentation

Canada Pay Range For This Role$140,700—$197,100 CAD
