We are deeply integrated into the payments ecosystem. In the UK, we are direct participants of Faster Payments and Bacs, and hold settlement accounts at the Bank of England. Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA and SWIFT. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard across the UK and Europe.
Our regulatory permissions and governance structure underpin our business. We are regulated as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.
Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by the venture arms of payments giants PayPal and FIS, as well as growth investors Blenheim Chalcot, General Atlantic, Frog Capital and Highland Europe.
Modulr now has over 400 employees globally across offices in London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Mumbai.

The Role
We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Director of Channel Partnerships to lead the transformation and scaling of our partner ecosystem. Based in London, you will work cross-functionally to evaluate our current partnership activities, bring our channel program to the next level, and create a structure that supports regional go-to-market teams across the UK, EU, and U.S. markets.
This is a high-impact role for a leader passionate about driving commercial growth through scalable and repeatable partner models across embedded finance.
Key Responsibilities
Build and drive a Scalable Channel Partner Program:
- Design a comprehensive channel framework including partner tiers, go-to-market motions (referral, co-sell, resell), enablement resources, performance metrics, and engagement playbooks.
Structure for Global Growth:
Develop and implement a scalable channel partnership structure that aligns with and supports regional leadership models in the UK, EU, and U.S.
Assess & Uplift Capabilities:
- Evaluate the current skills, tools, and resourcing across partnership initiatives and recommend and implement enhancements to systems (e.g., PRM, CRM), reporting, and enablement.
Define Resourcing Model:
- Identify optimal team structure through a clearly defined roles and responsibilities matrix across functions such as sales, marketing, legal, and operations.
Partner Strategy & Acquisition:
- Source and activate new channel partners across fintech platforms, enterprise SaaS, and financial institutions to expand Modulr’s reach into key verticals.
Relationship Management & Revenue Growth:
- Manage strategic relationships to deliver joint success. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to activate partner-driven pipeline and influence revenue targets.
Performance & Optimization:
- Make sure that the KPIs developed, drive continuous improvement and scalability while leading regular performance reviews with partners.
About You
- Extensive experience in partnerships or channel leadership roles within fintech, SaaS, or relevant vertical market
- Proven success building and scaling partner programs from the ground up
- Deep understanding of partner models (referral, reseller, white label, embedded)
- Operational expertise in channel frameworks, partner tooling (e.g., PRM systems), and cross-functional governance
- Strategic thinker with a strong commercial acumen and a bias for execution
- Comfortable navigating and building within a matrix organization
- Exceptional communicator and collaborator, able to influence at all levels
- Experience in international markets and working with regionally distributed teams
