The Role

As a Director of Cloud Operations specializing in Site Reliability Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and performance of our systems. Your primary focus will be on managing on-call responsibilities, enhancing observability, and optimizing developer tooling, including CI/CD environments. You will lead a team of talented DevOps and SRE professionals and collaborate closely with development and operations teams to drive excellence in our platform's reliability, availability, and performance.

What you need to Succeed

On-Call Management:

  • Lead and coordinate the on-call rotation schedule.
  • Ensure effective incident response, escalation, and resolution.
  • Continuously improve incident management processes and documentation.

SRE Best Practices:

  • Champion Site Reliability Engineering best practices across the organization.
  • Establish and monitor service-level objectives (SLOs) and service-level indicators (SLIs) for critical services.
  • Drive blameless post-incident reviews to learn from and prevent future incidents.

Cloud Operations Management:

  • Oversee the management of cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, availability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Work closely with cloud service providers to optimize resource allocation and performance.
  • Implement security best practices and disaster recovery strategies for cloud operations.

Team Leadership:

  •   Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of DevOps and SRE professionals.
  •   Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  •   Set clear goals and expectations for the team and provide regular feedback.

What you bring to the table 

  • Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in managing on-call responsibilities and incident management.
  • Proficiency with observability tools such as monitoring, logging, and tracing systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
