Director of Design
Beyond powers the business of short-term rentals with a best-in-class Revenue Management System used by thousands of property managers and owners around the world. We’re profitable, growing fast, and building with the latest technologies—including AI—to help our customers unlock more revenue with less effort. It's with that in mind that Beyond is looking to add a Director of Design to lead and scale the design function across both product and marketing. This is a hands-on leadership role—equal parts strategic thinker, craftsperson, and team builder. You’ll report to the VP of Product and work closely with engineering, product, and marketing to deliver elegant, high-performing experiences that drive growth and retention.
As we expand our self-service acquisition funnel and double down on AI-driven simplicity, we need a design leader who can evolve our systems, elevate our craft, and ensure every interaction—from first touch to long-term retention—reinforces our value.

As our Director of Design, you'll be responsible for
- Leading design at Beyond - setting the vision and raising the bar across product UX, interaction design, and marketing creative
- Managing a high-performing team of 5+ designers across product and brand
- Partnering deeply with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to drive strategy, alignment, and execution across the customer journey
- Rolling up your sleeves in Figma and other tools to provide direction, unblock teams, and contribute directly when needed
- Driving design execution on high-priority initiatives (e.g., onboarding flows, navigation simplification, homepage experience, PLG funnel optimization)
- Championing a voice-of-the-customer mindset—leading continuous discovery, modernizing research processes, and embedding insights into team rituals
- Exploring and integrating emerging AI-driven design tools (e.g., rapid prototyping, automated UI generation) to increase design velocity and experimentation
- Ensuring the team delivers with consistency and speed, prioritizing high-impact work and building systems that scale quality over time
Now that we’ve told you what the job looks like, here are the qualifications we're looking for in a candidate:
- 8+ years in design roles, with 2–4+ years managing designers; ideally experience leading both product and brand/marketing design
- Proven success in a high-growth SaaS or prosumer business; PLG experience a strong plus
- Mastery of modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and a deep understanding of UI/UX patterns, interaction design, and visual storytelling
- Strong ability to balance hands-on design work with team leadership, mentorship, and strategic influence
- Experience establishing scalable research processes and bringing actionable user insights into design decisions
- Passion for design systems, craft excellence, and continuous iteration
- Curious and forward-looking—excited about how AI and emerging tools are reshaping the design process
- Strong cross-functional communicator who can align teams and influence without ego
