As the Director of Engineering for Dropbox’s new initiatives division, you will exactly get to do that.  You’re able to balance business delivery with engineering quality, have strong business acumen, are data and metrics oriented, and can balance a portfolio of short term and long term investments. Responsibilities
  • You will build and lead an organization of high performance engineers, pushing the boundaries of what is possible, while being a fantastic place to work.
  • Conceptualize and implement a technical strategy for new initiatives as we evolve product lines loved by hundreds of millions of people.
  • Work with cross functional team members to align product and technology.
  • You will create a culture of strong technical ownership, resulting in highly reliable products and services at scale.

Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in a medium or larger software company including 6+ years managing high performance teams
  • Demonstrated technical breadth in building search at scale, particularly how major system components align to produce end-to-end capabilities
  • Deep interest in recent AI developments and implications in the search domain
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and grow senior leaders and managers
  • Deep organization capabilities, especially in influence, collaboration and communication
  • BS degree in a technical or design related discipline (CS preferred)
Total Rewards

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):• US Zone 1: $268,600 - $316,000 - $363,400.• US Zone 2: $241,700 - $284,400 - $327,100.• US Zone 3: $214,900 - $252,800 - $290,700. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro), Washington DC metro and West Virginia (DC metro)• US Zone 3: All other US locations
