As a visionary leader, you'll own the strategic direction and execution of our frontend platform and architecture. You'll champion innovation, anticipate future trends, and translate your vision into actionable plans that elevate the user experience and propel Sumo Logic forward. Beyond platform leadership, you'll also take the helm of our Dashboards team, a crucial piece of the Sumo Logic experience. You'll empower your team to build and refine intuitive, data-driven dashboards that empower our users to make informed decisions.

Impact and Responsibilities:

  • Own Platform Experience Vision and Strategy: Drive the strategic direction for Sumo Logic's platform experience, aligning with overall product and business goals. Define the technology roadmap, anticipate future trends, and champion innovation.
  • Lead a High-Performing Engineering Team: Build, attract, and retain a world-class team of frontend and fullstack engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth. Guide individual development, delegate effectively, and empower ownership.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Experiences: Ensure a seamless and intuitive experience for all users across the platform. Partner closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate vision into reality.
  • Shape the Frontend Technology Landscape: Champion best practices, architect scalable and maintainable solutions, and advocate for continuous improvement through infrastructure and tool enhancements.
  • Represent Frontend Engineering at the Executive Level: Articulate frontend challenges and opportunities to leadership, secure resources, and influence strategic decisions. Build strong relationships across the organization.

What You Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years leading high-performing engineering teams and at least 2 years of experience managing managers. 
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling frontend platforms for large-scale applications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, building, and mentoring geographically dispersed engineering teams
  • Expertise in modern frontend technologies (React, Redux, JavaScript, web platform) and cloud-native principles.
  • Strategic vision and the ability to translate it into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, influencing stakeholders and building consensus across diverse teams.
  • Passion for building exceptional customer experiences and a drive to continuously improve.

    Sumo Logic Privacy Policy Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. The Base Salary range for this position is $240-270k per year, + bonus + equity in the form of PIU's.
