Director of Insights, Food and Drink
Mintel is in search of an experienced Research Director to lead a team of analysts in producing industry-leading content for our food and drink clients. In this role, you will use your extensive industry knowledge and critical thinking skills to develop and enhance the quality of all work produced by the team.
You should come into this role with at least 8 years of experience in a relevant research, marketing, shopper or consumer insights, branding or consulting role. In addition, as we are looking for an individual that is passionate about guiding and mentoring their team, you should have a minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Managing, coaching and supporting a team of analysts: You will coach team members on key skills, including content themes and subject matter, survey writing and report planning, market size and forecasting, and presentation skills.
- Editing and elevating data-driven research:You will review and edit syndicated content and other deliverables. Help your team identify and analyze consumer and industry trends, and provide recommendations that will help our clients make sound business decisions. Ensure accuracy and quality, insight, thought leadership, and timely delivery.
- Building strong relationships: You will collaborate with a wide range of colleagues across the company in sales, marketing, data science and product development.

You have a strong understanding of the role consumer research plays in business decisions, and expertise in designing consumer research studies to address key issues. - Data-Focused: You are adept at translating patterns in data to forward-looking, visually engaging, insightful content. You ideally have experience working with syndicated consumer research such as Simmons/MRI and have worked with syndicated sales data such as Circana or Nielsen.
