About the Role

Our team is looking for someone with the vision and skills to drive the evolution of our corporate security strategy and team. A specific focus will be on defining a framework and implementing technology to support a comprehensive enterprise security program, including governance, risk, and compliance. This role will be responsible for ensuring we are designing and evolving technologies in consideration of employee needs, supporting long-range strategy, cross-functional projects, and initiatives across Crunchyroll globally. This role will require a strong partnership across Crunchyroll’s teams, including Legal, Finance, Engineering, IT, People, Workplace Experience, Safety & Security, as well as third party contractors, and suppliers.

About You
  • You are data driven and have a strong attention to detail.
  • You enjoy diving into the details, formulating a plan, and communicating that plan at the strategic as well as detailed levels as required across the organization.
  • You enjoy building strong relationships at all levels in the company, and to convert priorities and values into actionable solutions. 
  • You see the big picture, envision a long-term strategy and define a roadmap to success.
  • You have 10+ years of experience in information security, with various roles in Information Technology and Security and can do the jobs you manage. 
  • You have experience in Application Security, Incident Management and Threat & Vulnerability Management.
  • You are comfortable with doing hands-on work as you build your team and as needed afterward.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide audience, from technical staff to executives.
  • You have demonstrated experience maintaining effective working relationships across all levels of an organization and with a variety of external constituents.
  • You successfully prioritize and complete large projects with minimal direction in a globally distributed environment.
  • You approach work with a positive and collaborative attitude.
  • You have security certification(s) (CISSP, CISM, etc.) You have knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA.
  • You have experience with AWS security and cloud best practices.
A Day In The Life Of a Director of Security:
  • Enhance, implement, and monitor an information security program
  • Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to align security initiatives with business goals
  • Establish metrics that demonstrate continuous improvements
  • Ensure compliance with controls and regulatory requirements including PCI, SOX, as well as others we have defined
  • Use alerting, logging, and monitoring to identify areas for improvement
  • Build and architect solutions to contain and eradicate threats. Implement security incident response processes that are aligned with stakeholders, continuously test controls, and help the business make informed decisions based on threat intelligence with an emphasis on automation
  • Lead with earned respect and influence across the organization
  • Build and lead a team of high performing analysts and engineers
  • Partner with peers and advocate for right sized security solutions
