Our Directors of Engineering lead our powerhouse technology teams while also remaining technically proficient themselves, as they assist in building our customer web applications and software products across a diverse group of industries. Our Education team is looking for a collaborative leader who possesses the ability to partner with the business and technology teams to make decisions that will shape the strategy of our products and services. 

What You’ll Do:

People Leadership

  • Build and align teams through resource planning, team member allocation, and staffing projections
  • Foster a highly engaged engineering team culture.
  • Accountable for the performance of their leaders, their teams, and the partnership with business stakeholders
  • Works closely with other Directors of Engineering to create cross-team bridges

Strategic Leadership

  • Focus on technical and business strategy for multiple teams
  • Connect the business goal to technical execution through strategic leadership
  • Frequently creates and communicates vision and strategy plans for their respective teams
  • Responsible for aligning leaders and engineers to support business objectives over the course of one to many quarters.
  • Partners closely with business GMs, Product/Marketing Directors, and other functional leaders

Technical Leadership

  • Define, implement, and manage business and vertical software development lifecycles
  • Defines technical priorities for the team based on impact and is accountable for their execution alongside business deliverables
  • Develops standards for software development workflows, including decisions between methodologies, key performance indicators, and team collaboration strategies
  • Drive high quality solutions through close partnership with engineers on technical implementation

 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Deep expertise in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to create and communicate technical vision and gather broad support both internally and with partners
  • Focus on leadership development, effective communication, and engagement building
  • Understanding when to leverage commercial products, open source, internal tools, or build new when evaluating technical solutions.
  • Experience with general software design and architecture so that you can guide teams to the right solutions, while avoiding common pitfalls.
  • Experience leading teams or serving as a technical lead within an organization;   experience managing remote teams is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and creative problem-solvers who love to challenge themselves.
  • Personal commitment to being great people to work with and for everyday.

 

Compensation

    • USA Compensation Range: $145,000-260,000* *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
