The Director of Operational Excellence & Fraud Operations will oversee the administrative and operational functions of the Global Information Security Office (GISO), with a specific focus on enhancing operational frameworks, optimizing business processes, and managing fraud operations. Reporting directly to the CISO, this role requires a combination of business management, fraud prevention expertise, and a thorough understanding of information security practices. The Director will collaborate closely with the CISO, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to foster a culture of excellence and integrity.

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the operational excellence and fraud operations strategy, aligning with the organization’s risk management and business objectives.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify and mitigate fraud risks while enhancing operational performance.
    • Provide regular updates and insights to executive leadership on key operational and fraud metrics.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce operational risks, and enhance efficiency.
    • Lead the business and fraud operations within the security department, ensuring strategic objectives are efficiently and effectively achieved.
    • Develop and implement business and fraud prevention strategies, plans, and procedures in alignment with the company’s overall security appetite.
    • Collaborate closely with the CISO to set comprehensive goals for performance and growth across security and fraud operations.
    • Oversee budget preparation and management for the department, ensuring it meets operational needs and adheres to financial constraints.
    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments to ensure integration of security policies and fraud prevention practices.
    • Collaborate with GRC to ensure compliance with regulatory, internal audit, and policy requirements, particularly those related to fraud and security operations.
    • Manage functions of the security department to ensure business operations are both efficient and scalable.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing operational workflows and recommend best practices for scalability and sustainability.
    • Foster innovation in operational processes through the adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and process automation tools.
    • Develop and maintain an operational excellence framework to standardize practices and ensure consistency across departments.
  • Fraud Operations Management:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of fraud prevention, detection, and investigation programs.
    • Establish a program to identify and address fraud risks quickly and effectively while preserving our customer experience.
    • Develop and refine fraud monitoring systems and tools, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning.
    • Ensure timely and effective responses to fraud incidents, including coordination with law enforcement and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Risk and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies related to fraud and operational processes.
    • Partner with legal and compliance teams to align fraud and operational strategies with evolving regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operational and fraud management professionals.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Provide clear direction and support to team members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Partner with IT, Finance, and business units to integrate fraud prevention measures and operational improvements into scalable core processes.
    • Act as a key liaison with external partners, including vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or operational excellence, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of fraud schemes, detection methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies and operational best practices.
  • Proficiency with fraud monitoring tools, data analytics platforms, and automation technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), PMP (Project Management Professional), or Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze complex data and trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Strategic Vision: Capacity to align operational initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Innovation: Drive for implementing advanced technologies and methodologies to improve processes.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to convey technical and operational concepts to diverse audiences.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Lehi office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

The annual base salary range is: $154,000 - $246,000. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
