Director, People Technology Solutions

Our People Technology team  is focused on building robust system- based solutions that make work easier, faster and more effective for all Toast employees.  In this role, you’ll lead the development, implementation, management  and improvement of best-in-class people information and enablement systems, as well as lead the effort to develop a seamless digital employee experience.  This high-impact role is perfect for an individual who wants to create outstanding user experiences and drive efficiency across Toast.

 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Develop and drive a people technology strategy and roadmap that helps transform the employee digital experience.  Partner cross-functionally with leaders to ensure people technology solutions operate effectively within Toast’s enterprise technology ecosystem and roadmap.
  • Lead the People Technology Solutions team.  Establish team goals, align priorities and identify skills needed to meet commitments.  Define roles, communicate performance expectations and support career and skill development plans.  Define the team operating and delivery model, including use of outsourced service providers. 
  • Partner deeply with Talent Operations and leadership to provide a best in class experience for Toasters engaging with the People team.  
  • Lead the process whereby new technology projects are evaluated and prioritized. Directly or through staff, conduct business needs assessments and lead the evaluation and selection of people systems-based solutions
  • Prepare resource plans and timelines for HR systems projects, identifying cross-team requirements, external resources and other investments necessary to ensure successful project completion. Provide periodic updates on status of projects, staff capacity and any project challenges or risks in need of resolution. 
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and other departments to ensure a unified approach to data security and compliance across the organization
  • Provide strategy and oversight for Toast’s intranet application.   As the owner of this area you will work cross-functionally to establish the system architecture, portal design and content governance guidelines that results in an engaging user interface and seamless access to information and resources. 
  • Measure and assess the effectiveness of People systems. Turn data into actionable insights to drive continuous improvement. 

 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 10+ years of HR technology management experience within a growing, global organization
  • Experience managing Workday HCM and Payroll; other Workday module experience is a plus 
  • Outstanding people management skills with the ability to attract, develop and retain talent
  • Strong project-management skills and demonstrated ability to resolve complex business, systems, data, and program delivery challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work with multi-functional teams, including a track record of successful program implementation and delivery

  • Experience managing an intranet including development of a platform content strategy

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$162,000—$259,000 USD
