Director Product Engineering (m/f/d)
Your Mission
We are in search of a Director Product Engineering (m/f/d), with the drive to create the best robotic product in order to build RobCo into the category-leading SMB automation company in Europe. We’ve raised €17.5M from the world’s best VCs, such as Sequoia, Kindred, and Promus and top-notch angel investors such as Daniel Dines and Christian Reber to achieve our vision.As a foundational member of RobCo’s leadership team, you’ll work closely with our CEO, VP Revenue, VP Operations, and your team using a modern stack.
- Technical Leadership: Provide strategic technical leadership, direction, and vision for the engineering department that aligns with Robco's overall business goals and objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including mechanical, electrical and software engineers.
- Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to SOP, ensuring that products are developed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
- Innovation: Drive innovation within the engineering team, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics and automation technologies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as revenue, solution engineering, manufacturing to align engineering efforts with company goals.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage engineering budgets, allocate resources effectively, and make strategic decisions regarding technology investments.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet high-quality standards, are reliable, and comply with safety regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with engineering projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish and maintain engineering best practices, processes, and methodologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, customer needs, and competitive products to guide product development strategies.
- 10+ years in a technical leadership role in a fast-paced and early stage setting.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams to generate the best products in the world.
- You’re data-driven and will base your decisions on ROI.
