About the job

This position is needed to drive the long-term technology vision of the Data Connections & Platform Extensibility team inside the Customer Data Platform (CDP) group. The team enables our industry-leading Segment CDP catalog by building key strategic integrations and empowering our partner ecosystem through a self-service portal to build next generation customer engagement applications. This role will closely partner with senior technology and product leaders in the organization to enable the engineers to turn ideas into reality.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Manage a team of world-class full-stack engineers building key strategic integrations and platform extensibility features powering Twilio Segment CDP and external developer-facing tools. 
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to define the long-term strategy to enrich the partner ecosystem around Twilio Segment CDP.
  • Define, audit, and iteratively improve the team’s software engineering practices achieving world-class reliability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Hire and develop the talents in the team by building a brand to attract the talent and providing mentorship to the team members.

Required:

  • 15+ years of relevant engineering experience out of which 7 years of engineering management experience in building and scaling product-focused engineering teams.
  • Experience in scaled people leadership by managing managers and senior-most individual contributors in the organization.
  • Exposure to architectural design patterns of high-scale systems (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms, etc.) and experience leading large-scale, cloud-based software architectures.
  • A proven track record of delivering software products that delight customers, and operating them at the highest level of reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Experience hiring skilled and diverse full-stack software engineering talents.
  • Experience driving career growth for early-in-career, mid-level and senior engineers.

Desired:

  • Exposure to Advertising Technology, Marketing Technology domains.
  • Experience building software solutions together with external partner organizations.
  • Experience designing and implementing highly available, performant, and fault-tolerant distributed systems that provide durable and (eventually) consistent results. 
  • Understanding of the application development utilizing AI/ML technology stacks.
Location

This role will be based in our Bengaluru, India office.

Travel
