About the jobThis position is needed to lead a team of Solutions Engineers in our North American New Business team. This leader will own a material portion of our NAMER business, working with the RVP of New Business to build a business. If you’re up for this kind of challenge you should apply!
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you’ll:
- Ensure high quality discovery is conducted by our Solutions Engineers
- Ensure high quality and well documented Solutions ARchitectures, Designs and Proposals are provided to Customers in a timely way
- Develop and maintain relationships with your cross-functional partners in Product, Product Marketing, Engineering and supporting services to ensure that Solutions Engineering and Go To Market are well represented in their efforts.
- Develop your team’s presentation, technical, and product knowledge with an eye to developing a world class organization
- Contribute to team- and organization building projects as assigned
- Build a perspective on customer and market trends by listening to prospects and advocate customer interests to influence Twilio’s strategy and vision.
- Partner with Front- and Second-Line Managers to constantly enhance and improve sellig motions, sales plays, and related activities.

Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences, or equivalent experience
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally
- Experience in translating complex technical concepts into language for different audiences including engineers, business leaders, or client-side decision-makers
- Ability to lead and teach a consultative sales process resulting in deep customer understanding and tailored solution
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience leading/managing a technical teams
- Ability to model, teach and assess excellent communication and presentation skills to both internal and external teams
- Experience with the development and implementation of a pre-sales strategy that helps accelerate sales of a specific product(s).
- Experience sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and onboarding highly qualified new team members
- Experience working in SaaS and CPaaS industries is advantageous.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Desired:
- Familiar with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, Go, Java, C/C++
- Familiarity with the Twilio product stack
- Deep understanding of the New Business sales cycle and one or more sales methodologies
- Experience interviewing World Class engineering talent
- An understanding of distributed systems and Technical Architectures (should include but not be limited to, Hybrid Cloud, Microservices, Event Driven, Containerization, and Orchestration).
Location
This role is remote and will be based in North America.
Approximately thirty (30%) travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado: $198,720.00- $248,400.00.
- Based in New York, Washington State, or the San Francisco Bay area, California: $220,800.00 - $276,000.00.
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
- This role is eligible to earn commissions.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
