Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Director, Specialty Transportation. You will lead a high caliber team and be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, roadmap, implementation, and network design to deliver a best-in-class returns experience for Chewy customers. You will also be the leader Operations looks to in supporting new business verticals. Success will be measured by the impact of improvements made to the Chewy customer returns journey and cost improvements for Chewy Operations. You will engage with experienced leaders across Customer Service, Technology, Operations and Healthcare to innovate on Chewy Returns, Refunds and Concessions. You thrive through creating a vision, building consensus and driving teams towards results. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, significantly complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to influence are essential to success in this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Optimize the Chewy customer returns journey from pickup to fulfillment center processing
  • Evaluate Operational requirements and support for new business verticals
  • Own the 1-3-year vision and roadmap for Ops facing tech and product improvements
  • Lead a team of product and program managers in taking complex business requirements and delivering process and product improvements
  • Proven ability to perform in-depth analysis, synthesize results, develop stories, build strategies and make recommendations to business and technical leaders
  • Utilize data to understand customer behavior and transform those insights into clear business requirement documents (BRD) for product enhancement and new features
  • Use existing and emerging technology to design the optimal tech build and product for returns and emerging businesses
  • Develop and maintain product roadmap for customer returns features ensuring product enhancements; communicate impact clearly across the organization to drive prioritization

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years’ experience in eCommerce or B2C Supply Chain Management building new Delivery Channels and launching new products as part of channel development
  • Track record of building high-impact consumer experience features and products
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Proven track record driving innovation on behalf of both enterprises and end customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience planning and executing go to market strategies
  • Detail oriented and possess superior organizational, self-motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Position may require travel 

Bonus:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management within a fast-paced metrics-driven environment. At least 5 years of experience managing a team
  • MBA or master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or other technical field from an accredited university

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Director, Specialty Transportation position is $180,500.00 - $288,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
